Conga Copilot

Conga Copilot is an AI-powered virtual assistant designed to boost productivity and efficiency when working with a contract document through its entire life cycle. It leverages machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) to analyze and generate content. This tool enables users working on contract documents, supporting documents, and global and other documents to summarize them and to get answers about them.

Copilot:

  • Answers questions about such documents as contracts, their supporting documents, and global documents.
  • Keeps a history of questions users asked it in a document.
  • Summarizes contracts, supporting documents, and global and other documents.

Asking Questions and Getting Answers

  • The administrator has enabled Copilot for agreement objects in your permission group.
  • You have access to contract records.
  • Contract records have associated contract, supporting, or global documents.
You can use the Conga Copilot chat window to ask questions about contract documents, supporting documents, and global and other documents.
  1. Click the App Launcher icon () and select Contract Apps.
  2. Select a contract to display its contract details page.
  3. Click the Copilot icon ().
This raises the Contract Documents window, displaying a list of contract documents, supporting documents, global documents, and other documents associated with the selected record.
    Note:
    • You can open DOC, DOCX, and PDF file formats.
    • You can only select one document at a time for summary.
    • The file size must be less than 12 MB.
  4. Select a document and click Start.
This action opens the document window, displaying the document details on the left and the CONTRACT COPILOT window on the right.
  5. The COPILOT window displays the following tiles:
    • How does this work?: This navigates to the Conga Customer Community page.

    • Get Support: This redirects you to the Conga Customer Community page. Log in with your credentials to log a support request.

    • Recent chats: This opens the Chat History window containing your recent interactions with Copilot about the document.

    • Frequently used prompts: This contains commonly used prompts (questions or requests) that the administrator has configured in advance. Selecting any prompt returns a response from Copilot without your having to enter the prompt.

  6. In the CONTRACT COPILOT window, enter your question related to the document in the text box and click the Send icon () to receive the relevant answer.
    Note:

Click the Clear icon () b before the text box to return to the home screen.

Click the Regenerate icon () to get a different version or format of answer for the same question. This is useful when you do not receive an appropriate answer in first instance.

  7. Click the HISTORY button to view the chat history for this document based on your interactions with Copilot.
Conga Copilot responds with relevant answers to your questions.

Use Cases

These are some ways you can ask Copilot questions

Not only can you ask Copilot questions that require advanced pattern-matching, but also questions that require mathematical analysis of results from such queries. The following examples demonstrate some of these capabilities.

Direct Question

You can ask Copilot direct questions about a document:

  • Does this contract have an arbitration clause?
  • What is the governing jurisdiction for this agreement?

Counts

Copilot can count the number of records matching specific criteria:

  • How many agreements do we have with this vendor?
  • How many contracts expire this quarter?

Copilot can answer questions that require simple mathematical analyses, such as sums and differences, averages and means, and minimum and maximum values.

Sums

  • What is the total contract value for all MSAs with this customer?
  • What is the total approved amount for all invoices with a "completed" status?

Differences

How much of a price break did this customer get from FY 2024 to FY 2025?

Averages

  • What is the average deal size for new contracts signed this year?
  • Show me the average discount rate for new deals that reach completion.

Maximum

What is the largest legal claim limit in any of our existing vendor contracts?

Minimum

  • What is the shortest termination notice period across all our standard MSA templates?
  • What is the best per-unit price we have given this customer?

You can also ask Copilot to group records by one or more characteristics:

Grouping

  • Show the count of agreements, grouped by vendor.
  • Show the average contract value by sales region.

Generating a Document Summary

  • The administrator has enabled Copilot for agreement objects in your permission group.
  • You have access to contract records.
  • Contract records have associated contract, supporting, or global documents.
Conga Copilot can summarize contract documents, supporting documents, global documents, and others, making it easier to review lengthy contracts. You can use the Summary feature in Conga Copilot to generate summaries efficiently.
  1. Click the App Launcher icon () and select Contract Apps.
  2. Select a contract to display the Contract Details page.

  3. Click the Copilot icon (). This raises the Contract Documents window, displaying a list of contract documents, supporting documents, global documents, and other documents associated with the selected record.

    Note:
    • You can open DOC, DOCX, and PDF file formats.
    • You can only select one document at a time for summarization.
  4. Select a document and click Start.
This opens the document window, displaying the document details on the left and the COPILOT window on the right.
  5. In the COPILOT window, click the Summary icon ().

The DOCUMENT SUMMARY window opens showing the summary in two sections: contract summary section that highlights the key points related to the document and brief summary section that offers a concise overview of the contract.
