In-Effect View

The In-Effect View feature allows you to access essential information and contract data for the contracts that are currently in effect. You can review contract details, clauses, and documents from this view. Additionally, you can track amendments to view combined data from both the original and amended contracts that constitute the in-effect contract.

You can open the In-Effect View from any record in the chain, the base contract or any amendment record, and it always presents the aggregated in-effect state of the full chain, regardless of which record it is opened from. The sections that appear in the view are controlled by your administrator through the In-Effect View configuration.

You can see the following details in each section of the In-Effect View:

  • In the Contract Details section, you can view the Contract Field, Value, Contract Number, and Updated By details. Each field label reflects the field's configured Display Name as defined in your organization's settings.
  • In the Contract Clauses section, you can view the Clause Name, Contract Number, Updated By, and Modified On details.
  • In the Contract Document section, you can view the Contract Name, Contract Number, and No. of Docs details.
  • Your administrator can enable or disable each related list section in the In-Effect View configuration. Each enabled related list can be configured to display up to five columns.

The In-Effect View aggregates data across the chain as follows:

  • Contract Details shows the latest in-effect value for each field from the most recent activated record that holds a value for that field (up to a maximum of 30 fields).
  • Contract Clauses shows the latest active version of each clause across the chain; if the same clause appears in multiple amendments, only the latest activated version is shown.
  • Documents and all other related lists show all records from across the full amendment chain, with no filtering applied.
  • The Contract Details, Contract Clauses, Contract Document, and other related-list sections do not support sort, filter, or search.
