Regenerating a Contract Document

  • A contract record exists.
  • At least one contract template must be available.
  • The administrator has:
    • Configured the Document Group attributes in Common Attributes. If it is not configured, the drop-down does not appear.
    • Enabled the feature flags for Property-based Access Control (PBAC) for document group settings to be enforced.
    • Enabled and configured PBAC for all permission groups assigned to your user account.
Note: If PBAC is not configured for all permission groups assigned to a user, that user may retain access to restricted documents through other groups. Contact your administrator to confirm that PBAC is configured correctly.
You can use the same template that you used while generating a contract document or a different template to update a contract document.

Contract documents often vary in sensitivity. Some are intended for both internal and external audiences, while others contain confidential information that must be restricted to specific users. The Document Group attribute controls which users can access a document, ensuring that sensitive documents are visible only to the appropriate groups (for example, Private Group, Public Group, or Confidential Group) as configured by your administrator in Common Attributes.

  1. Go to the Contract Details page.
  2. Click Regenerate Document.
  3. Select a template or search for a template and select the template's file type.
    Note:

If you had associated a contract template with a contract type when creating a new template using Conga Drive, then those contract templates are listed for selection. For more information, see Using Conga Drive.

    Note:

Only 100 templates are visible in the Select a Template popup. Use the search box to search for a particular template.

  4. Select a document format from the Select the document format section.
    Note:

The options available in the Select the Document Format section are based on the document format setting configured by your administrator. If the administrator has selected a default format, it is selected by default and all the document format options buttons are disabled. For more information, see Document Format Setup.

  5. Select a document permission type from the Select the document permission drop-down.
    Note:

The Select the document permission level dropdown is editable based on the document protection setting configured by your administrator. For more information, see Document Protection Setup.

  6. Enable the Include Watermark checkbox to apply the watermark to the contract document.
  7. From the Document Group drop-down, select a document group for the regenerated document.
Note: The Document Group attribute from the previous version is retained by default. You can select a different value to change it.
  8. Click Create.
A new contract document is created from the selected template.
You can view the contract document in the Documents tab on the left panel.
