Prerequisite

Based on user roles, the administrator has assigned Read and Create permissions on the Contact object. For more information, see Managing Roles and Permissions.

To create a new contact

  1. Click the App Launcher icon ().
  2. Select Contacts from Shared Apps.
  3. On the My Contacts tab, click New Contact.
  4. Enter the following fields in the Contact Information section.

    Fields marked with * are mandatory.

    Salutation *Select the salutation or title from the drop-down menu
    First Name *Enter the first name
    Last Name *Enter the last name
    Account Name *Enter the account name
    Email *Enter the email address
    PhoneEnter the phone number
    TitleEnter the title
  5. Enter the following fields in the Additional Information section.

    Enter the fax number
    DepartmentEnter the department name the contact person belongs to
    Enter the home phone number
    Lead SourceSelect the source of lead from the drop-down menu
  6. Enter the following fields in the Address Information section.

    Mailing AddressEnter the contact's mailing address
    Enter the contact's mailing street name
    Mailing CityEnter the contact's mailing city
    Mailing Province/StateEnter the contact's mailing province or state
    Enter the contact's mailing postal code
    Enter the contact's mailing country
    Enter the contact's alternate address
    Enter the contact's alternate street name
    Enter the contact's alternate city
    Enter the contact's alternate province or state
    Enter the contact's alternate postal code
    Enter the contact's alternate country
  7. Click Save. A new contact is created
