This section provides information on upgrading Conga CLM to the latest version from the previous two releases. 

Regardless of your current Conga CLM version, you can upgrade to the latest version. If you have not installed Conga CLM, you can contact Support to request an installation link, then perform the standard installation as described in Installing Conga CLM

Preparing for Upgrade

Before you upgrade to Conga CLM Spring '21, you must ensure the following:

  • You go through Conga CLM on Salesforce Feature by Release to know about the new features, enhancements, and deprecated features in Conga CLM since your existing release. After you upgrade Conga CLM to Spring '21, you cannot roll back to any previous release.
  • You have System Requirements and Supported Platforms
  • You have access to the Install Center on the Community Portal.
  • You have administrator privileges to your Salesforce org.
  • It is recommended that you back up all your configurations. 

Upgrading to Conga CLM Spring '21

This section describes step-by-step instructions to upgrade from Winter '20 and Summer '20 to Spring '21.

Upgrading Conga CLM from Winter '20 to Spring '21

  1. Go to Setup > Installed Packages and ensure that your current Salesforce org has the following Winter '20 packages installed. Also, ensure that you have the following packages and dependent packages to upgrade to Spring '21. These packages are required to utilize the new features and enhancements of Spring '21.

  2. Perform the upgrade. The upgrade procedure is the same as the installation procedure. For detailed information on installing Conga CLM managed packages, see Installing Conga CLM.

Post-Upgrade Task

  1. Ensure that the Track Activities checkbox is selected on the Document Version Detail page or you cannot end parallel review. To enable Track Activities:
    1. Go to Setup > Object Manager > Document Version Detail.
    2. Select Details from the left panel and click Edit.
    3. Select the Allow Activities checkbox and click Save.
      The Track Activities checkbox is displayed as selected on the Document Version Detail page.
  2. To use the new agreement search feature for searching large documents, you must execute Database.executeBatch(new Apttus.FileSplitJobProcess(), 1); in the developer console. 

The agreement search feature is a limited availability feature. For more information, see Using Smart Search to Search Content in Agreement Documents in Lightning.


Upgrading Conga CLM from Summer 2020 to Spring '21

  1. Go to Setup > Installed Packages and ensure that your current Salesforce org has the following Summer 2020 packages installed. Also, ensure that you have the following packages and dependent packages to upgrade to Spring '21. These packages are required to utilize the new features and enhancements of Spring '21.
