X-Author Contracts supports data translation to multiple languages. This allows you to use X-Author Contracts in your native language. You need to configure Contract Management to view X-Author Contracts in your native language. To view X-Author Contracts in your native language, you need to configure locale related settings in Contract Management. You need to change the locale settings in Contract Management and translate labels of Visualforce pages that are used in X-Author Contracts. You also need to translate the XML resource file and upload it to the required locale. You can use default locales available in Contract Management or add a custom locale.

To change locale settings 

  1. Go to Setup > My Personal Information > Edit your personal information > Edit.
  2. Navigate to the Locale Settings section and update the following fields according to your translation requirement.
    1. Time Zone
    2. Locale
    3. Language
    4. Currency
  3. Click Save.
    You can now view all the Salesforce objects in the language you selected.

To set up language translation 

  1. Go to Setup > Translation Workbench > Translation Language Settings.
  2. Click Add.
  3. In the Language Translation Edit page, select a language from the Language dropdown.

  4. To permit few users to edit translations, move those usernames from the Available List to Selected List.

    Note

    Ensure that the language is active.

  5. Click Save.
  6. Go to Setup > Develop > Visualforce Pages.
  7. Select a visualforce page.
  8. In the Visualforce Markup section, search for the word Label and make a note of all the labels on the page.
  9. Repeat the above step for all the following visualforce pages.

The labels in the following visualforce pages need to be translated as they are used in the X-Author Contracts:

To translate custom labels

  1. Go to Setup > Create > Custom Labels.
  2. Select one of the labels.
  3. In the Custom Label Detail page, click New Local Translations / Overrides.
  4. Select the localization language.
  5. In the Translation field, enter the translation text for that label.
  6. Click Save.

To translate custom fields 

  1. Go to Setup > Translation Workbench > Translate.
  2. In the Select the filter criteria section, select the following options:
    1. Language: select localization language
    2. Setup Component: Custom Field
    3. Object: Agreement
    4. Aspect: Field Label
  3. In the Field Label Translation column, double-click on the field space next to a field you need to translate available in the Master Field Label column.
  4. Click Save.

To download the resource file

  1. Navigate to the Locale tab.
  2. Click the English (United States) hyperlink.
    This displays the Template Locale Detail page.
  3. In the Files section, click the Download hyperlink.
    TheXAResource.resx file is downloaded to your system. 
  4. Open the file and translate the UI text into your local language.

Note

Do not rename the XAResource.resx file (resource file).

To upload the updated resource file

  1. Navigate to the Locale tab.
  2. Click the <locale name> hyperlink.
    This displays the Template Locale Detail page.
  3. In the Files section, click Upload Files and select the updated XAResource file from your system.
  4. Click Close on the Upload to <locale name> window.
    When you open X-Author Contracts, you can view the UI in your local language.

Note

If you need to update the resource file, ensure that you delete the existing resource file and upload the updated resource file. If no resource file is available for the locale you have selected in Salesforce, the default English (United States) is used to display the content in X-Author Contracts.
