Organizations have different personas involved in different stages of contract negotiation. Each of these personas performs different actions during the contract review or negotiation process. According to the permission assigned to your profile, you can view different UI modes in OCC. You can view your UI mode on the OCC toolbar. For each user profile, an administrator can configure access modes and sharing settings. For more information, see Configuring OCC Access Modes and Sharing Settings

The following table lists the various actions that a user can perform in each UI Mode when an OCC access mode is assigned:

The following are the various UI modes available in OCC:

Commenting: In this mode, you can view all the comments in the document, add new comments, and reply to other users' comments. You can also edit and delete comments added by you. You can access Smart Data which allows you to navigate to fields and clauses within the document. When you click Publish, only With Redlines option is available. 

Negotiating: In this mode, you can view all the comments in the document, add new comments, and reply to other users' comments. You can also edit and delete comments added by you. You can access Smart Data which allows you to navigate to fields and clauses within the document. When you click Publish, only the With Redlines option is available. 

Negotiating Plus: This mode is similar to editing mode, but you cannot edit the content in the agreement document. The track changes are turned on by default. You can view all the comments in the document and add new comments. You can also reply, resolve, and reopen other users' comments. You can edit and delete comments added by you. You can access Smart Data which allows you to navigate to fields and clauses within the document. When you click Publish, all the document publishing options are available. 

You can switch to True-Up mode by clicking the Negotiating access mode dropdown. In True-Up mode, you can accept or reject suggestions in the document.

Editing: In this mode, you can edit content in the agreement document. All the changes are tracked as the track changes are turned on by default. You can view all the comments in the document and add new comments. You can also reply, resolve, and reopen other users' comments. You can edit and delete comments added by you. You can access Smart Data which allows you to navigate to fields and clauses within the document. You can also use Clause Library to insert clauses. When you click Publish, all the document publishing options are available. 

You can switch to True-Up mode by clicking the Editing access mode dropdown. In True-Up mode, you can accept or reject suggestions in the document.

Read-only Access

A document is available as read-only when a user does not have edit access for a document due to a sharing setting or the document is being viewed or edited by another user. In read-only mode, you can view all the comments in the document. You can access Smart Data which allows you to navigate to fields and clauses within the document. You cannot publish documents in this mode.
