Conga Composer for Salesforce1 enables you to create and deliver customized documents, presentations, and reports from mobile devices. This topic describes the use case for generating a document using mobile devices.

This use case gives one example of how to generate and send a Quote document using a mobile device. You might use this functionality differently to generate different documents depending on your business case. Contact your administrator to configure the Composer Solutions as per your business use case.

For example, you (as a sales representative) are sending out a quote document to the customer. The administrator (Sales Operations Manager) of your company is always looking for ways to speed up and simplify the sales process, so he automates this process and builds a Composer Solution for Salesforce Mobile so that you can generate a quote document for the customer directly using a mobile device.

The administrator must configure the solution with background mode ON using the supported DS7 parameter, which means with a single button click, the document will be generated according to the predetermined output method, behind the scenes. (For this, you only need to click the button, the rest of the process runs in the background and the document or email template is automatically merged and delivered in the desired manner. Because the user interface is skipped, you are not able to choose templates, output file options, or activity logging options. Instead, the administrator pre-defines these options in the Conga Composer solution using parameters.)

You must launch a Composer button with an OAuth base URL in the standard Salesforce user interface before launching it in Salesforce Mobile. This establishes the OAuth connection that allows you to launch the Composer button in Salesforce Mobile.

To generate a quote document using Composer Button

  1. Navigate to an object record in Salesforce Mobile. (for example here, Opportunity Record)
  2. Click the composer button (for example here, Send Quote) to generate the document.
Depending on the configuration of the solution, there may be a document to view and download, or automatically delivered through email, once the process has been completed.

To generate a quote document using Global Action

  1. Navigate to an object record in Salesforce Mobile where the Composer Lightning Component's Global Action is present.
  2. Click the Global Action (for example here, Composer Salesforce Mobile) to initiate and access the Composer Lightning Component.

  3. Choose the desired solution (for example here, Send Quote) from the Solution Collection to launch Composer through the Composer Lightning Component.

Depending on the configuration of the solution, there may be a document to view and download, or automatically delivered through email, once the process has been completed.
