Create Sub-Clauses
Sub-clauses are a separate, related object to clauses that allow users to include additional child clauses related to a master clause.
Sub-clauses are helpful in contexts where additional clauses are needed for a specific clause or topic but do not warrant a new separate clause. This allows users to create sub-grouping of clauses in the contract document.
For example, you may have Clause 1 with multiple related Clauses 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3. By creating 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3 as sub-clauses to Clause 1, you can maintain that parent-child structure in your Clause Library all the way through document generation, redlining, and true-up.
Limitations
When you use a Clause or Clause Bundle step in an Orchestrate process definition, Orchestrate adds only the clause and its first-level subclauses as managed clauses to the target record.
Only the first level of subclauses (those directly under a parent clause) are automatically included. Subclauses of subclauses (second-level or deeper subclauses) are not automatically included in managed clauses or in the generated document when using clause bundles or Orchestrate steps.
This is the current supported behavior and applies whether you add clauses manually or through Orchestrate automation.
