CPQ enables you to override the default asset pricing for certain ABO actions and the corresponding line statuses on the cart. In that case, CPQ applies price from price list items.

Prerequisites

Ensure that the Default Asset Pricing Indicator? is turned on in Config System Properties.

To override default asset pricing for a line status

  1. Navigate to Setup > Develop > Custom Settings.

  2. Click Manage next to Config Asset Pricing Default. The Config Asset Pricing Default page is displayed.

  3. Click New. The Config Asset Pricing Default Edit page is displayed.

  4. In the Name field, enter the name of status for which you want to override the default asset pricing.

  5. Clear the Default Asset Pricing Indicator checkbox to override the default asset pricing configured through the Default Asset Pricing Indicator? setting in Config System Properties. For more information, see Config System Properties.

If you select this setting, the global setting Default Asset Pricing Indicator? in Config System Properties takes precedence. In that case, CPQ makes asset pricing as default for asset line items.

  6. In the ABO Action field, enter the ABO action associated with the setting. Supported values are:
    • Renew
    • Change
    • Swap
    • Terminate
    • Change: Configuration
    • Change: Merge
    • Change: Split
    • Change: Quantity
    • Relate
    • Relate Component

When you come to the cart through these ABO actions, for the line statuses you configured above, you will see that the value is from price list item, not from the asset pricing because you have overridden the default setting.

CPQ applies Price Escalator on new ramp lines created during ABO operations regardless of the Default Asset Pricing Indicator? setting (true or false). A new ramp line always gets its value from the price list item (PLI) pricing. For more information, see Use Case: Applying Price Escalator on New Ramp Lines During ABO Operations.
