Configuration for Deal Guidance Rules

You must add the following values in the Business Objects picklist in the Deal Guidance Rule object to use them to configure Deal Maximizer rules.

Apttus_Config2__LineItem__c
Apttus_Config2__ProductConfiguration__c

You must also define field dependencies, if they are not already created, on the Guidance Type field to complete the configuration of the Deal Guidance Rule object.

To add the Business Objects picklist

This task guides you through the process of adding the Business Objects picklist in the Deal Guidance Rule setup. You will navigate through the setup menu, create new values, add specific object references, and rename picklist values as required. Ensure you save your changes to update the Business Object details page.

Go to Setup > App Setup > Objects > Deal Guidance Rule > Business Objects.
Click New next to the Values section.
Add the following two object references:
- Apttus_Config2__LineItem__c
- Apttus_Config2__ProductConfiguration__c
Click Save.
You are redirected to the Business Object details page.

In the Values section, rename the Label field for the picklist values as described in the following table. Click the API Name field each time to populate the updated name automatically.

Deal__c	Apttus_DealMgr__Deal__c
DealLineItem__c	Apttus_DealMgr__DealLineItem__c

Click Save.

The values are added to the Picklist Values for the Business Object and are now available when you create Deal Guidance Rules.

If you have upgraded the package, you must add the value Custom to the Measure picklist field. On the first installation, this field is available in the picklist.

To add values to the Measure picklist

The Measure picklist is used to define specific criteria for evaluating business objects within the Deal Guidance Rule setup. Adding custom values allows for tailored guidance based on unique business requirements.

Go to Setup > App Setup > Objects > Deal Guidance Rule > Business Objects.
Click New next to the Values section.
Enter Custom.
Click Save.

To set Field Dependencies

Setting field dependencies in deal guidance rules involves navigating through the setup menu to access the relevant sections and creating dependencies that define how fields interact at both deal and line levels. This process ensures that the correct values are displayed based on the guidance type and measure selected, facilitating effective deal management.

Go to Setup > App Setup > Objects > Deal Guidance Rules > Guidance Type.

In the Field Dependencies section, create new dependencies as described in the table.

Click Save. When you create a Deal Guidance Rule, the appropriate deal and line level values will be displayed.
