Locale Setup
As an administrator, you can use the Locale Setup feature to control which languages are available for translations in the Conga Advantage Platform. By default, English (US) is always selected and cannot be deselected, as it serves as the fallback locale. Additional locales like English (UK), French (FR), and German (DE) are enabled by default, while other supported locales can be added or removed based on your organizational needs.
You can add only one locale at a time to keep the system running smoothly. When you add a new locale, the system automatically generates translations for all existing custom and system-generated strings and schema records.
If you remove a locale, the system prompts you to confirm your action. Removing a locale deletes all associated translations, and users assigned to that locale are automatically switched to the organization's preferred locale. You can remove multiple locales at once, but you are allowed to add only one new locale in a single operation.
The locales you manage here apply across the platform, including all translation management interfaces, user management (create, edit, and view), and organization management screens. You can also set a primary locale for your organization. This sets the default experience for users who have not specified a user-level locale. If no locale is set at the user level, the system considers the organization level locale for the translation. If no preference is set at either the organization or user level, English (US) is used as the default fallback language.
Adding a New Locale
This task helps you add a new locale for your organization. Adding a locale enables the platform to support translations in that language. To maintain system performance and avoid unnecessary data generation, you can add only one locale at a time. When you add a new locale, the system automatically creates translation entries for all existing system and custom strings, as well as schema definitions, in the background.
English (US) is always enabled and cannot be deselected. English (UK), French (FR), and German (DE) are enabled by default. Other available locales can be added based on your organizational needs.
The selected locale is successfully added. The system starts creating translation records for all applicable strings and schema entries in the background. Changes to the locale list will automatically reflect in organization management, user management, and translation-related interfaces.
Removing Locales
This task helps you remove one or more previously enabled locales from your organization's translation configuration. Removing a locale permanently deletes all associated translations for that language and resets users assigned to those locales to the organization's preferred locale as their default locale.
The selected locales are removed and associated translations are deleted. Changes to the locale list will automatically reflect in organization management, user management, and translation-related interfaces.
