Object and Field Mappings
Object and field mapping defines how data in Salesforce aligns with data in the Conga Advantage Platform during a sync. This section covers two related tasks:
- Object Mapping: defines the relationship between a Salesforce object and its corresponding object in the Conga Advantage Platform.
- Field Mapping: defines how individual fields within those objects correspond to each other, including how field values are validated and transformed during sync.
The initial list of objects to sync is gathered from the tenant profile and displayed on the Object Mappings page. You can add new objects or fields, update existing data structures, and select which fields to include or exclude from a sync — all from the Data Sync UI on the Conga Advantage Platform.
-
Set up your data synchronization infrastructure before configuring object or field mappings. For more information, see Data Sync Configuration.
-
Out-of-the-box (OOTB) objects and fields are automatically mapped during onboarding. However, the currency field is not mapped by default. If your organization uses multiple currencies, manually map the currency field for the relevant objects before initiating data sync.
Use the following topics to configure and manage object and field mappings, understand supported field type combinations, and learn how data is transformed during sync.
Creating an Object Mapping: Define a mapping between a Salesforce object and its corresponding object in the Conga Advantage Platform.
- Creating a Field Mapping: Map individual source fields to target fields and configure field-level sync behavior.
- Transforming Field Values: Convert source field values that differ in format, spacing, or naming into the format the Conga Advantage Platform expects.
- Data Transformation Scenarios and Rules: Understand how data values, object names, and field names are transformed during migration or synchronization between Salesforce and the Conga Advantage Platform to ensure data consistency and proper mapping.
- Field Type Compatibility Between Salesforce and Platform: Review supported and unsupported Salesforce and the Conga Advantage Platform field type combinations before configuring your field mappings.
