Configuring X-Author Action Permissions for CLM Users
You have created the required permission group. For more information, see Creating Permission Groups.
- Click the App Launcher (
) icon from the top-left corner >Admin Console > Users.
- Go to the Permission
Groups tab and edit the relevant permission group. For more information, see
Working with Permission Groups
.
The following table lists the X-Author actions that you can enable in the CLM.

Select this checkbox to display the Templates tab in X-Author.

Show Contracts Menu
Select this checkbox to display the Contracts tab in X-Author.
Allow CheckIn As Final
Select this checkbox to display the following save options when the user checks in the contract document in X-Author:
- With Redlines
- Without Redlines
- Final - to be signed
Allow CheckIn Without Redlines
Select this checkbox to display the following save options when the user checks in the contract document in X-Author:
- With Redlines
- Without Redlines
Allow CheckIn With Redlines
Select this checkbox to display the following save option when the user checks in the contract document in X-Author:
- With Redlines
Allow Unprotect Document
Select this checkbox to allow full access to all the documents irrespective of protection type enforced at the document level.
Hide Checkout Menu
Select this checkbox to hide the "Open" and "Open and Update" option for the user in X-Author.
Disable Auto Checkout
Select this checkbox to disable the auto check out option for the users when they perform the following actions:- Create and check in offline document
- check in contract document
- check in template
- Send document for review
- Compare and merge document
- Regenerate/regenerate with redlines
Display Check-In Create pdf A
Select this checkbox to display the Create PDF/A attachment option when the user checks in the contract document in X-Author.
