Importing an Executed Contract

  • The administrator has enabled enable-clm-feature-settings-menu feature flag.

  • The administrator has turned the Enhanced Authoring Flow toggle button in CLM Feature Management, on.

  • You have action permission to import an executed document, with Discovery Agent option.

  1. Select Executed Contract to import an executed contract.
  2. To create a contract from an already executed contract using Discovery Agent for data extraction, turn the Use Discovery Agent toggle on. To create a contract without Discovery Agent data extraction, keep the Discovery Agent toggle off.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Select Contract Type. The contract fields configured by the administrator for the page layout of the selected contract type are displayed.
  5. Enter the required details. The Account field is mandatory. For more information about contract fields, see Contract Fields.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Upload or drag and drop the contract document from your system. You can upload documents in DOC (500 MB), DOCX (100 MB), and PDF (500 MB) formats.
    Note: During import, a duplicate file check is made within each folder and across all folders and sub-folders in Discovery AI. An upload pop-up dialog shows when a duplicate file is discovered.
  8. Select a worksheet that should be used for data extraction. This overrides the default worksheet configured in Discovery Agent.
  9. Click Create.
The contract record is created with Status Category and Status as In Authoring and Author Contract, respectively. You are redirected to the contract's Document tab. If you selected Discovery Agent option, the Discovery Agent extraction runs in the background and and you can monitor the progress from the Documents tab.

You will receive an email on completion of the extraction process. The contract is assigned Import and Review as its Status Category and Status, respectively.

Click Open to review the data extraction details. The document opens in Discovery Agent. You can make changes to extraction as required and complete complete the review. For more information, see Imported Document Review
