Activity History
A negotiation cycle for a contract can run for weeks, months, or sometimes a year. It is difficult for end users like sales users, contract managers, and legal users to remember the changes that happen to a contract. The activity history feature lets you track all the events and actions executed in a contract journey on the CLM application.
The Activity History panel provides a comprehensive log of all activities associated with a contract's lifecycle. This feature is designed to enhance transparency and accountability by allowing users to:
- View a chronological record of all actions taken on a contract.
- Filter the activity log based on specific events or user actions to quickly find relevant information.
View Activity History
From the Activity panel, you can track the activities performed on the contract, user details of who executed the action on the contract and the timestamp (date and time) are displayed chronologically.
You can see a record in the Activity History with the document version number when you perform any of the following actions:
- Create a contract through any of the following options:
- Fill out a form
- Import a document
- By Import Documents
- By Store Executed Contract
- Intelligent Document Import

Filter Activity History
The activity history feature allows you to monitor all events and actions carried out during a contract's lifecycle within the CLM application. From the Activity panel, you can filter activity history by different action categories, enabling you to focus on specific types of activities, such as document generation, lifecycle updates, and approvals.
You can filter activity history according to the following action categories.

Additionally, you can use date ranges such as the last seven days, the previous two weeks, this month, or a custom date range by specifying the start and end dates to filter the contract's activity history.
To filter activity history by date ranges, choose one of the following options from the TIMESTAMP list.
- Last 7 days
- Last 2 weeks
- Last month
- Custom Range
Let's consider that you want to review the activity history of a contract. The contract has gone through several stages, including document creation, lifecycle updates, and approvals. You want to see only the approval-related activities to ensure all necessary approvals have been completed.
Select a contract to open its Contract Details page and click the Activity icon () to open the Activity panel.
Click the filter icon ( ) to filter the activity history and choose the action category, for example, Submitted action under APPROVAL and click Apply.
The Activity panel now displays only the activity history related to submitted approval requests.

Exporting Activity History Records
You can export records from a contract's activity history in a CSV or an Excel file. You can export all the records, the search results or the filtered records from the history.

DocumentExtension | File type of the document generated as a result of performing the contract action which generates a document. For example, Generate Document, Regenerate Document, Generate Supporting Document, Upload, Import Offline Document, Join Documents, etc. |

Comments | Comments specified by the user at the time of performing the contract action |
