Creating and Adding Alternate Clauses

Conga CLM allows you to add alternate clauses to your Clause Library and then associate them with a parent clause. Once defined in the library, you can use the clause playbook to replace a standard clause with the appropriate alternate clause(s) in your agreements. See Alternate Clauses for more information.
Note: Inactive clauses and subclauses will not be visible for replacing in the Clause Playbook in View Redlines during the Negotiation process.
You must first create a new clause and then define that clause as an alternate clause on an existing parent clause:
  1. Create a new clause that will be your alternate clause
  2. Open the parent clause
  3. Open the Related tab
  4. Click Select Clauses in the Alternate Clauses related list
  5. Search for and select the clause you created in step 1
  6. Click Save
  7. Optional) Set the parent clause to be restricted to alternates by editing the Clause Configuration and selecting Restrict to Alternates
