Adding Custom Additional Fields to Clauses

You can set up the Clause Object so that custom Additional Fields are available for your Clauses within the Clause Library. Once configured, these custom Additional Fields are available when you create new clauses, or when you edit existing Clauses.

To add a custom field to the Clause Object

  1. In Salesforce, navigate to the Object Manager and enter "Clause" in the Quick Find search bar to search for the Clause object.
  2. Click Clause in the search results.
  3. Click Fields & Relationships.
  4. Click New to create a new field.
  5. Select a field. For example, select Text.
    Warning:

Lookup, multipicklist, and geolocation fields are currently not supported.

  6. Click Next.
  7. Enter the required information. For example, the Text field requires a Label name, the length of text characters you want to allow, and the field name.
  8. Click Next, and then click Next again.
  9. Click Save.

When you navigate to the Clauses tab in the Clause Library, and select an existing clause, the field you just configured is now available in the Additional Fields section. If you create a new clause, the field is also available in the Additional Fields section.

Note:

Custom Additional Fields are currently only visible through the Clauses tab of the Clause Library and are not visible in the agreement Managed Clauses details section.
