Numbering Pages in an Advanced Report

You need the Advanced Reporting permission to number the pages in an Advanced Report if the report is lengthy.

  1. Click Reports in the Navigation Toolbar, and click the Reports link in the menu.
  2. In theReport Browse screen, locate the Advanced Report that needs the page numbers, and double-click the report record.
    Tip:

    An advanced report is displayed under a Report Group: Advanced Report header. Expand/collapse a report group using the ^ and v icons.

  3. In the report layout screen, click Add Page Number in the toolbar to display a blank field in the Page Footer section of the screen.
  4. Click the blank field to display its properties in the Properties section:
    • Scroll down to Expression in the Name column, and verify there is a $V{Page_Number} variable in its Value field.
    • (Optional) Use the other properties to format the display of the page number field.
    • (Optional) Move the numbering to the report header by selecting Page Header in the Value list for the Section field.
  5. (Optional) Hover over the borders of the text field and use the arrow icons to resize the field.
  6. (Optional) Hover over the field until the arrow icon displays. Click the icon, and then drag-and-drop the field to a different location in the section.
    Tip:

    Click in the Expression field and enter Page in front of the $V{Page_Number} variable to add the word Page to the numbering.

  7. Click Save.
  8. (Optional) Generate the report.
    Tip:

    Remove a page numbering field by right-clicking the field to display the Delete button, and then click the button. Remove a Group By section or a sub-group from the report layout by clicking its x icon.
