Conga Sales Agent Overview

Conga Sales Agent is an AI-powered assistant, built on Salesforce Agentforce, that enables sales representatives to automate common Conga CPQ tasks using natural language prompts directly within Salesforce Lightning Experience.

Conga Sales Agent is created using the Agentforce Employee Agent template in Salesforce and is configured specifically for Conga CPQ workflows. It uses a large language model (LLM) and an AI reasoning engine to interpret what a sales representative asks for, determine the appropriate topic and action to invoke, and return an accurate response all within a conversational interface. Sales representatives interact with Conga Sales Agent using everyday language rather than navigating multiple Salesforce pages, which reduces manual effort and keeps them focused on selling.

Salesforce administrators configure and activate Conga Sales Agent through Agentforce Builder in Salesforce Setup. Administrators control which topics and actions are available to the agent, define the agent's behavior through system messages and instructions, and manage user access through permission sets.

Important: This is an Early Access feature and available only to customers enrolled in the Early Access Program (EAP). Contact Conga Service team to obtain the Conga Sales Agent package.Use this Conga Sales Agent package only in a sandbox environment to test functionality and provide feedback. Do not use it in production.

How Conga Sales Agent Works

When a sales representative enters a prompt in the Conga Sales Agent conversation window, the Agentforce reasoning engine processes the request through the following sequence.

  1. The reasoning engine analyzes the natural language prompt and identifies the user's intent.
  2. Based on the intent, the reasoning engine selects the most relevant topic from the topics assigned to Conga Sales Agent.
  3. Within the selected topic, the reasoning engine determines which action to invoke, using the topic's classification description, scope, and instructions as guardrails.
  4. The action retrieves or updates the relevant Conga CPQ data such as a quote record, product details, or cart line items and returns the result to the conversation window.

Administrators can use the Plan Tracer in Agentforce Builder to review the reasoning steps that Conga Sales Agent performs for any given prompt. This helps identify unexpected behavior and refine topic instructions iteratively.

If your organization has multiple active employee agents, a drop-down arrow appears in the conversation window to let the user select the appropriate agent.
