Add Products to a Cart

The product is added to the cart and you can view the complete list of products in the mini cart by clicking the cart icon on the top right. If you have products selected, this icon displays the number of products added.

While browsing the catalog, you may decide to purchase one or more products. You can add those items to your cart and come back later to see all of your cart items.
Note:

The application displays the Buy Another action for asset products, which is similar to the Add to Cart button. Whether you use the Add to Cart button or the Buy Another action, the steps for adding products remain the same.

Adding Standalone Products

You can add standalone products directly from the catalog or from the product details page. The catalog allows you to select one or multiple products and quickly add them to your cart for purchase.
  1. Go to the Catalog page and click Add to Cart for the product you want to buy. You can also click the product image to open the product details page and add it to the cart.
  2. Check if a recommendation rule is set for the product. If it is, the Recommended Products tab appears next to the Details tab, where you can add recommended products directly to the cart.
  3. Use the checkbox next to each product to select one or more products. You can also use Select All to choose all products on the page.
  4. After selecting the required products, open the Selection menu, select Add to Cart..
  5. Click Confirm to add them to the cart.

Adding Complex Products

You can add complex (bundle) products to the cart from the catalog or product details page. The process depends on whether the product is customizable.
  1. If the IsCustomizable flag is set to false, the Add to Cart button appears on the catalog page. Click Add to Cart to open the Product Configuration pop-up.
  2. Click Change Configuration if you want to modify the product configuration.
The system first adds the product with default options (if any) to the cart and then opens the Product Details page, where you can make configuration changes.

  3. Click Add to Cart to add the product directly to the cart without making configuration changes.
  4. If a recommendation rule is set for the product, the Recommended Products tab appears next to the Configuration tab. You can add recommended products directly from this list.
  5. When the Product Is Customizable:
    1. If the IsCustomizable flag is set to true, the Configure button appears on the catalog page. Click Configure to open the Product Configuration pop-up.
    2. Click Change Configuration to go to the Product Details page. to add the product to the cart.
    3. Modify the configuration as needed and click Add to Cart to add the product to the cart.
Note: If the configuration has issues, an error message appears on the Product Details page, prompting you to review and correct it before proceeding.

Manage Complex Products in the Cart

You can efficiently manage complex products in the cart by understanding the selection, pricing, and validation processes. This topic helps you to navigate through selecting multiple products, handling pricing errors, and ensuring seamless cart updates and validation.

Select Multiple Products

Each product card in the catalog includes a checkbox that allows you to select multiple products. When you select one or more products, a drawer opens showing the selected items. You can use the Select All option to select all products on the page or deselect specific products as needed. From the Selection menu, select Add to Cart and click Confirm to add the selected products to the cart.

If you add multiple customizable products together, an error message appears in the cart and other pages. You must resolve the configuration errors before you can request a quote or place an order. Clicking the error message opens the Product Details page, where you can update the configuration.

Note: Although there is no fixed limit on the number of products you can add to the cart at once, it is recommended to add up to 50 products to avoid performance delays or failed operations.

Price and Error Handling

If the cart pricing process times out after configuring a product, the system retries pricing based on the number of attempts defined in the Configure Templates. If pricing remains pending, the following options appear:

  • Retry: Retries pricing for the defined number of times.

  • Clone: Clones the cart, marks the new cart as active, and reruns pricing when any action is performed.

  • Abandon: Deactivates the current cart and creates a new one.

Cart Updates and Validation

After adding products to the cart, you can view all items in the mini cart by clicking the cart icon on the top-right corner. The icon shows the total number of products in the cart.

If you add or configure a product that triggers validation, inclusion/exclusion, or configuration (min/max) rules:

For validation and inclusion/exclusion rules, you'll see in-line and page-level messages with an alert icon showing the number of warnings or errors. You can review and fix them as suggested.

For configuration (min/max) rules, you'll see detailed error messages on the cart and product configuration pages. If multiple errors exist, you can click the message to view a list of issues.
