Changing Your Primary Identity Provider

Over the course of usage of the Conga Platform, you may need to change your Identity Provider (IdP) used to authenticate access to our services. In the case where it is necessary to replace an IdP completely, the new IdP first needs to be added as secondary IdP under Admin -> Identity Providers

-> Add Identity Provider. The Primary IdP is responsible for administration of all user access and creation of additional IdPs, so if you plan to retire your current Primary IdP, you should plan on switching to a new IdP before retirement of your Primary IdP is complete.

Once the secondary IdP is configured and tested, you are ready to begin the process of switching your Primary IdP and your Identity Provider configuration should look similar to the screen below.

When you are ready to switch your Primary IdP, begin the process by clicking the double arrow above. You will then be required to select your new tenant Security Admin group from the drop-down in the dialog. You should select a group of which you are a member, or a colleague close at hand is a member, as the change will need to be confirmed by a member of this group.

Click 'Switch' to switch the provider. Now a member of the selected group will need to login using other identity provider (with a different username suffix) and confirm the change.

Once the change is confirmed, members of the tenant Security admin group should now have the ability to perform full administrative functions in the Application Portal when logging into the new IdP, and you should be able to remove the old Primary IdP once your application role assignments are fully configured.

The change will not take effect until the switch is confirmed by logging into the new IdP, and until it is you have the opportunity to reject the Identity Provider change.
