The “Runtime” step allows running the Configuration Process or Catalog Process under specific conditions (such as the window size) and follow up on the results.

Setting up specific runtime conditions

In order to set up specific run-time conditions, proceed as follows:

How-To:

  • [In the menu toolbar]
    • Click on the step “Runtime”
  • [In the explorer]
    • Click on the tab “Configuration Launchers”
  • [In the explorer tab “Configuration Launchers”]

    • Provide the frame size for the launcher
      • The frame size is useful to test multiple resolutions
    • Provide the frame location for the launcher
      • The frame location is useful to simulate the Configuration Process embedded in a web application frame
    • Provide a background image or color
      • This will be used to “fill” the background” surrounding the frame
  • [In the menu toolbar]
    • Execute the “Save” function.
Warning: When running the SellingPRO Designer, the launcher defined with the previous generation of CPQ Designer are still referenced. However, to differentiate them from the ones created in the SellingPRO Designer, they are pre-fixed by “OLD_DESIGNER_”.

Running the configuration

    • Tick the “Inherit current Modeling session” checkbox if you want to override the version, workspace, Configuration Process and language to be used when running the model by the ones belonging to the Configuration Process you are working on

Managing runtime files

When running Configuration or Catalog Processes, it might be that some server access is required. For instance:

  • The configuration settings need to be changed, or a new configuration file needs to be added
  • The theme does not seem optimal and some changes need to be made to the css files.
  • A macro-BRC did not execute correctly and the macro traces need to be viewed
  • An image in the Rich Media Gallery needs to be updated
  • The CPQ log file(s) need to be retrieved for support or analytics reasons

In order to access these server files proceed, the “Runtime” step offers the “Manage Files” explorer tab. This tab offers the following functions:
