Call to PROS Smart CPQ App

Smart CPQ exists as a native app available on the Apple app store allowing to access CPQ on an IPad. It is thus possible from MSCRM on IPad, either from the MSCRM app or from MSCRM on a browser, to launch a configurable process, create a quotation and generate a PDF proposal via the Smart CPQ application. The standard integration process starts from MSCRM where the user creates the quote object. Then with Smart CPQ app, the user fulfills his quote and synchronizes the result back to MSCRM. To ensure the synchronization, a Smart CPQ App URL is built dynamically by the CRM when calling the app. This URL is based on the CPQ server URL configured in the PROS Custom Settings entity of the CRM.

When the quote in CPQ is called from the Ipad app, the layout and the model files used have the names of the web interface files, suffixed with “_TouchTablet”.

Warning: There is a limitation on the model name length. Including ‘_TouchTablet’ the name should not exceed 25 characters. So QuoteModel_TouchTablet is alright, while QuoteModelTooLong_TouchTablet is not.

The call to Smart CPQ App from the CRM can be performed as follows:
