Oauth Setup

The Oauth authentication method requires to setup permissions on a Connected App delivered with the PROS Smart CPQ managed package.

The objective is to determine who are the CPQ Salesforce users and take note of their profiles and permissions sets.

  1. In the Salesforce Setup menu, navigate to Connected Apps > Manage Connected Apps

    and search for the PROS Smart CPQ Authentication connected app.

  2. Click on the Connected App label link:

Permitted Users

Check and adjust - if necessary - the Permitted Users value in the OAuth Policies section: It must be set to Admin approved users are pre-authorized:



Configure the Connected App

Profiles and / or Permission Sets of users that synchronize quote data from the CPQ quote to Salesforce must be added in the corresponding lists of the connected app:



In order to perform this action, leverage the Manage Profiles or Manage Permissions Sets

buttons. Select the Profiles / Permission Sets and Save.

To be registered on this connected app, CPQ users may also be assigned the permission set named PROS Legacy CPQ User, dedicated to CPQ quote users, that is delivered with the managed package:



How to test

Open a CPQ quote from the CRM and trigger the synchronization by clicking on Synchronize and Close. An incorrect setup will raise the following error message:
