Migrate Model
Prerequisite
In order to run the model, the “migration output folder” needs to be defined in the cameleon.properties file. It also needs to be physically created in the <cpq_home> folder.
Starting the migration
In order to start the migration, proceed as follows:
- [In the menu toolbar]
- Execute the function “Start Migration”
- The message “Migration in process” shows up.
When the migration has been successful, the following message will be shown by the Designer:
Database migrated successfully.
If the migration did not end successfully, the following message will be shown by the Designer:
Error during migration. Check log files.
When the migration is finished, 2 files will have been created:
- The file
Migration_<COMPANY>_<MODEL><timestamp>.xml contains the migrated model- The file
Migration_Errors_<COMPANY>_<MODEL><timestamp>.txtcontains all the errors, warnings and informational messages
- The file
In order to view the content of the text file, proceed as follows:
- [In the migration table]
- Click on the function “View File”
- The file is shown in a popup window.
In order to download one of both files, proceed as follows:
- [In the migration table]
- Click on the function “Link” for the file of interest
- The file is downloaded.
Importing the migrated file
In order to import the migrated file, proceed as follows:
- [In the migration table]
- Click on the function “Import file” for the XML file
- The file is transferred to the import process
Note: For more information about importing CPQ models, refer to Executing Imports
Manufacturing model migration
Warning: In the Cameleon Classic model if several periods exist to define the bill of materials links (CP-CP or CP-SI), the migration will keep only the definition of the last period. The previous ones will not be migrated.
