Summary
This chapter summarizes the outcomes of the previous chapters:
- The Hotspot number associated to one item in the spare parts structure (‘spareParts’ link) is inherited by any other instance of the same item at other levels of the structure.
- If two instances of the same item in the spare parts structure (‘spareParts’ links) are associated with two different Hotspot numbers, the other instance of the same item elsewhere in the structure will inherit from the Hotspot number of the item on the uppest level of the structure.
- Deleting a Hotspot number for a given item makes it eligible for inheritance and discards the inheritance of this Hotspot number for other instance of the same item in the spare parts structure (‘spareParts’ links).
- One item replacing another one (‘replacement’ link) can only inherit from the Hotspot of the replaced item, if any, and cannot inherit from Hotspot numbers at other levels of the spare parts structure ( ‘spareParts’ links).
- An item in the spare parts structure (‘spareParts’ links) inherits from Hotspot numbers at other levels of this hierarchy, whenever they are not linked to another item with a ‘replacement’ link.
