Error Inspector
The error inspector is a feature available only for administrators (UI_DESIGNER role - Learn more about Roles in the Application PortalNo Content found for /db/organizations/conga/repositories/current/content/documents/Production/Smart_CPQ/user_guide/performance_quoting_quote_designer/performance_quoting_quote_designer_roles_in_pros_home.dita) allowing them to get additional information on a quote model at runtime. From this panel, the administrator is able to deep dive into the quote model and debug during quote model development.
Open the Error Inspector
Right-click on quote UI elements and select Open error inspector in the contextual menu from:
- Anywhere on the spreadsheet grid
- Any Field
The error inspector opens in a pop-up panel that displays inspection data related to all scopes available where the click happened. For example, if you click on a cell you can see data for the scopes of the cell, the line, the column, and the spreadsheet. The pop-up panel has, in its header, tabs that allow you to select the desired scope. By default, the selected scope is the most narrow.
Error Inspector Content
The error inspector allows the administrator to get information on the selected element in the grid.
It can be at a cell, row, column, or field level. In addition, the global tab contains information on your environment and data received from the CRM.
If the data is retrieved from an external system, the call can be triggered manually with the Refresh DP button.
If the call is triggered, additional information on the request is available.
With the tab Data Provider Request, you can see what is sent to the external system.
With the tab Data Provider Response, you can see what is received by the external system.
Debug Tab
PROS offers fine debug logs access in Performance Quoting's inspector to help users understand what happened during quote computations, for example in complex use cases such as custom processes.
The goal of this feature is to activate some traces on a specific quote to get details on executed operations and the resulting modifications.
Here is a non-exhaustive list of log types you can get when activating this feature:
- Command details and its correlation ID
- Quote status before and after the command execution
- ID of updated rows
- Row changes such as FPK, template, period, etc.
- Details of cell changes (optional)
- Query and result of external Data Source calls
- Long treatment report
- Errors
- Trigger of custom processes
- Result of the command
When a debug session is activated, traces are sent to Graylog where you can see them. If you don't have access to Graylog yet, please read Get an Access to Graylog.
- By default, an active debug session is automatically deactivated after 10 minutes if not manually deactivated.
- The number of logs is limited. By default, the maximum number of logs for a tenant during a 24-hour period is 10,000.
