Testing a Test Case

After you have created a test case and added the test steps, you can execute or test the test case. When the process is complete, you can view the status of each test step. Those that are successfully completed have a tick mark in green color, those that failed have a cross in red, and those that skipped have a triangle with exclamation mark in yellow. You can view the basic information for each test step in the summary panel along with the request details, response details, assertion failures, and failure message if any.

If the test case is created using an environment with multiple users and then during testing, if you select an environment with a single user an error message is displayed.

  1. On the Test Author home page, do one of the following:
    • Click Test Case in the right pane.
    • Go to Design > Test Case in the left pane.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Click the More icon () next to the name of the test case and click Test.
    • Click the name of the test step and click Test.
  3. In the panel, select the environment and user, and click on the paste icon to copy the access token.
  4. Click Run.
  5. Review the summary status of each test step.
