Getting Started with X-Author For Contracts

Installing X-Author for Contracts Advanced

To install X-Author for Contracts Advanced, you can use the Centralized Deployment Method or the App Source Installation Method. There are also four different add-in environments available, which are described below:

Conga X-Author for Contracts Advanced (Preview)

Only available with the Centralized Deployment Method

  1. Download the Preview XML file from the install center located at: https://community.conga.com/s/congainstallcenter
  2. The user must submit an IT ticket to install the XML file.
  3. In Web CLM, the user needs to set the following value: Contract Apps > CLM Admin > X-Author Configuration Settings > X-Author Add-in Load Type as seen in Platform.
  • This add-in will only connect with the preview environment (tenants that are onboarded to preview environment only) of Conga Web CLM
  • Users cannot connect with the production environment (use the Production add-in for tenants that are onboarded to the Production environment) of Conga Web CLM
  • Users cannot connect with the European version of the add-in

Conga X-Author for Contracts Advanced (EU-Preview)

Only available with the Centralized Deployment Method

  1. Download the (EU-Preview) XML file from the install center located at: https://community.conga.com/s/congainstallcenter
  2. The user must submit an IT ticket to install the XML file.
  3. In Web CLM, the user needs to set the following value: Contract Apps > CLM Admin > X-Author Configuration Settings > X-Author Add-in Load Type as seen in Platform.
  • This add-in will only connect with the EU Preview environment (tenants that are onboarded to EU Preview environment only) of Conga Web CLM
  • Users cannot connect with the EU production environment (use the EU Production add-in for tenants that are onboarded to Production environment) of Conga Web CLM
Conga X-Author for Contracts Advanced (AU-Preview)

Only available with the Centralized Deployment Method

  1. Download the (AU-Preview) XML file from the install center located at: https://community.conga.com/s/congainstallcenter​

  2. The user must submit an IT ticket to install the XML file.

  3. In Web CLM, the user needs to set the following value: Contract Apps > CLM Admin > X-Author Configuration Settings > X-Author Add-in Load Type as seen in Platform.

  • This add-in will only connect with the AU Preview environment (tenants that are onboarded to AU Preview environment only) of Conga Web CLM
  • Users cannot connect with the AU production environment (use the AU Production add-in for tenants that are onboarded to Production environment) of Conga Web CLM

Conga X-Author for Contracts Advanced (Production)

Available with the Centralized Deployment Method and the App Source Installation Method

Centralized Deployment Method

  1. Download the Production XML file from the install center located at: https://community.conga.com/s/congainstallcenter
  2. The user must submit an IT ticket to install the XML file.
  3. In Web CLM, the user needs to set the following value:Contract Apps > CLM Admin > X-Author Configuration Settings > X-Author Add-in Load Type as seen in Platform.

App Source Installation Method

  1. In the Microsoft Add-in, navigate to the Store
  2. Search for and install the Conga XA Advanced app
  3. In Web CLM, the User needs to set the following value - Contract Apps > CLM Admin > X-Author Configuration Settings > X-Author Add-in Load Type as seen in Platform.
  • This add-in will only connect with the production environment (tenants that are onboarded to production environment only) of Conga Web CLM
  • Users cannot connect with the Preview environment (use the Preview add-in for tenants that are onboarded to the Preview environment) of Conga Web CLM
  • Users cannot connect with the European version of the add-in

  • This add-in will only connect with the EU production review environment (tenants that are onboarded to EU production environment only) of Conga Web CLM.
  • Users cannot connect with the EU preview environment (use the EU Preview add-in for tenants that are onboarded to the Preview environment) of Conga Web CLM

  3. In Web CLM, the user needs to set the following value: Contract Apps > CLM Admin > X-Author Configuration Settings > X-Author Add-in Load Type as seen in Platform.

App Source Installation Method

  1. In the Microsoft Add-in, navigate to the Store

  2. Search for and install the Conga XA Advanced app

  3. In Web CLM, the User needs to set the following value - Contract Apps > CLM Admin > X-Author Configuration Settings > X-Author Add-in Load Type as seen in Platform.

  • This add-in will only connect with the AU production review environment (tenants that are onboarded to AU production environment only) of Conga Web CLM.
  • Users cannot connect with the AU preview environment (use the AU Preview add-in for tenants that are onboarded to the Preview environment) of Conga Web CLM
To view which environment you are currently synced to within the X-Author for Contracts Advanced application, navigate to Menu > App Details. You will see which environment you are connected to along with what user name. For example:

  • Connected to Salesforce Sandbox instance: User Name

  • Connected to Salesforce Production Instance: User Name

  • Connected to Advantage Platform Instance: User Name
