Creating a Playbook

The CongaAIPLATAdminPermission permission group has been added to your user profile. For more information, see User Management. Ensure that the following object permissions are included in the permission group:
  • RedlineDocumentMap

  • RedlineDocumentMapping

  • RedlinePlaybook

  • RedlinePlaybookDocumentMap

  • RedlinePlaybookRuleMap

  • RedlineRule

A playbook is a collection of rules that are applied together when analyzing a specific type of contract. The Redline Agent uses playbooks to determine which rules to execute when reviewing a contract. Instead of selecting individual rules manually, administrators can group related rules into playbooks that align with organizational legal standards and review policies.

The rule library is a centralized repository for all rules. Playbooks reference and organize these rules for specific contract review scenarios.

A single rule can be associated with multiple playbooks. For example, the same Confidentiality clause rule may be reused across NDA, MSA, and Purchase Agreement playbooks.

The application includes several out-of-the-box playbooks and rules that you can use as a starting point. These typically include common contract types such as:

  • NDA
  • MSA
  • SOW
  • Purchase Agreement

You can modify these predefined playbooks but can create custom playbooks by cloning an existing playbook and modifying it to meet specific requirements.

  1. In Conga Advantage Platform, navigate to Aime Settings > Solution Setup.
  2. Click View Settings in the Redline Agent tab.
  3. Click Playbook Library tab.
A list of existing playbooks is displayed.
  4. Click + Create Playbook.
  5. Specify the Playbook Name.
  6. Specify the metadata for playbook.
    1. Select the Contract Type.
Intent is automatically displayed based on the Contract Type.
    2. In the Source list, select whether the playbook is meant for own paper or third party..
    3. Select Legal Entity for which this playbook should be used.
Tip: Playbook metadata helps ensure that contracts are reviewed using rules that align with the appropriate business, legal, and regional requirements. For example, the acceptable payment term for Europe may differ from the standards for USA. You can fulfill this requirement by creating separate rules and adding them to different playbooks by legal entity.
  7. Click + Add Rules to add rules to the playbook.
Note: You must add atleast one rule to the playbook.
  8. You can add Clause Rules as well as Document Rules to a playbook.
Note: Within a single playbook, you can include only one rule for each clause. For example, if two rules exist for the Payment Terms clause, you can include only one of them in a playbook.
The rules that you selected for the playbook are displayed. To remove a rule from selection, click the () icon. To add more rules, click + Add Rules. To change the rule sequence, drag and drop the ( ) icon at the required position in the list.
  9. Turn the Auto-Apply Playbook toggle on for the Redline Agent to automatically identify and execute this playbook if its metadata matches the contract's metadata. Click Done.
Note: You can auto-enable only one playbook per contract type, legal entity, source combination.
  10. Specify Description for the playbook.
  11. Click Create Playbook.
The playbook is created.

When the user invokes Redline Agent in X-Author, the auto-enabled playbook is pre-selected. The user can view other applicable playbooks and switch to a different one if needed.
