Introduction

This guide is intended for the admin users of the Application Portal and explains the configurable settings for idle timeout and allowing Conga Support access.

Controlling Access to the Application Portal Administrative Features

Administrative features of the Application Portal are available for users who are granted the Security Admin role. This should be limited to groups containing only a few, highly trusted individuals in information technology, security, and similar positions. The Security Admin role is available only for the primary IAM or IdP.

To change the groups assigned to the Security Admin role,

1. Log into the Application Portal.
2. At the top, open the ADMIN menu and select Global Settings
3. Select the Security tab
4. Under the Security Admin Role-Group Mapping, change the groups selected.
5. Click Save Changes.

Change Session Idle Time

Per best security practices, the session idle timeout of Conga applications is set to 15 minutes by default. The session idle timeout time is configurable from 15 minutes to 12 hours. A security admin user of the Application Portal can change this setting by following these steps:

1. Log into the Application Portal.
2. At the top, open the ADMIN menu and select Global Settings.
3. Select the Security tab.
4. Under the Set Session Idle Time section, change the session idle time to your desired value.
5. Click Save Changes.

Grant Access to Conga Support

If you require assistance from Conga, you can authorize Conga Support users to sign into your environment by following these steps:

1. Log into the Application Portal.
2. At the top, open the ADMIN menu and select Environment Management.
3. Select the environment from the environment selection.
4. Select the General tab
5. Under the Support Access section, click on the switch next to Allow access for Conga Support to turn it on if it is not on already.
6. Click Save Changes.
   
   

Authorized Conga personnel are now able to log into the environment to assist you. Once you no longer need assistance, you can follow the same steps and set the switch to OFF.
