Working with Contract AI

Using AI Comparison for Doc Clauses

To access this feature, you must:

  1. Purchase the Contract AI feature package.

  2. Contact Conga Support to enable the contract-copilot feature flag on your account.

  3. Enable the COPILOT action permission. Only an Administrator can perform this task. For more information see Configuring Action Permissions for the Agreement Object.

The AI comparison feature allows you to perform a semantic comparison between a standard provision and extracted provision instead of a character-to-character comparison. After the comparison is complete, you are then notified of any mismatched content. AI comparison is available for all types of documents: generated and regenerated contract documents, import/create offline documents, and and AI Discovery extracted documents. .
  1. Open Microsoft Word and launch the add-in.
  2. Log in to X-Author for Contracts Advanced and open the required contract document. For more information on how to open a contract document, see Opening a Contract Document.
  3. Highlight the text you want to compare with your Contract document.
  4. Open the list of available clauses from the Contracts pane by selecting Doc Clauses from the Work tab.
  5. To begin AI Comparison, choose one of the following options:

    • Click the More (three dots) menu button beside the clause you want to compare and click AI Comparison in the dropdown menu.

    • Click the AI button on the Doc Clauses tab and select AI Comparison to compare the selected text with the marked clauses.

  6. Once AI comparison begins, a progress pane opens to display the four stages: Initializing, Comparing, Getting data, and Loading. You can view the status of each stage in this pane.

    • Click Cancel if you want to cancel the comparison.

    • Click Minimize if you want to minimize the progress pane. When the pane is minimized, you see a bar labeled "List of Symantec comparisons" at the bottom of the Word pane with a status of how many requests are in queue. Click on the bar to see the clause name, progress status (Initializing, Getting data, Loading, or Completed), and for options to either maximize pane or delete the pane.

    • Click X to close the progress pane.

  7. When AI comparison is complete, the summary pane displays. Here you can view the following:

    • Selected text: this is the text you selected in your document.

    • Standard Clause: This is the text in the standard clause you selected.

    • Similarities: This is an AI generated summary of the similarities between your selected text and selected clause.

    • Differences: This is an AI generated summary of the differences, or mismatched, between your selected text and selected clause.

  8. Click trash icon to delete the summary.
