Inserting Fields in Templates as a Table
This topic contains instructions for Conga CLM (Contracts for Salesforce) users. If you are a Conga CLM user and you are looking for information regarding inserting fields in a template as a table, see Inserting Fields in a Template as a table.
You can insert fields as a table in your template. The table is inserted into your template as a Repeat Table, meaning each separate line item record is populated as a row in the table, with field data populated in individual cells by column.
To insert fields in a template as a table
Open Microsoft Word and launch the add-in.
Log in to X-Author for Contracts for Conga CLM (Contracts for Salesforce) and open the template.
In the Templates pane, go to Work>Fields
Place the cursor in the section of the template text where you want to insert a table and click Insert New Fields. This opens theInsert Fieldsdialog box.
Select an Object (i.e., "Agreement") from the left column. To search a field related to the selected object in the right column, enter a keyword and click the Search icon () or press enter.
Select the required fields. On Mac: hold commandand select one or more fields from the list. On Windows: hold Ctrl (keyboard key) and select the fields.
Fields are inserted as columns in the table based on the order you select. Do not move your cursor when the fields are being inserted.
Select the checkbox Insert as a table.
Click Insert.
A Repeat Table is inserted into your template with each field displayed as a separate column.
To show or hide caption for a repeat table
Open Microsoft Word and launch the add-in.
Log in to X-Author for Contracts for Conga CLM (Contracts for Salesforce) and open the template.
In the Templates pane, go to Work>Fields. This displays the Repeat Table (object name) and the fields in the repeat table.
Select the Repeat Table and click the Settings button() next to Repeat Table.
In the Table Attributes section, toggle theShow Captionswitch on and clickSave. By default, it is on.
To select table formatting when no data is present
Open Microsoft Word and launch the add-in.
Log in to X-Author for Contracts for Conga CLM (Contracts for Salesforce) and open the template.
In the Templates pane, go to Work> Fields. This displays the Repeat Table (object name) and the fields in the repeat table.
Select the Repeat Table and click the Settings button next to Repeat Table.
In the Table Attributes section, click Format. This displays a drop-down menu. Select one of the following options based on your requirement.
To show table captions and one empty row, select Show captions and one empty row.
To show captions only and no rows, select Show captions only.
To remove the entire table from the generated document, select Remove whole table.
Click Save.
To make an inserted field smart or read-only
Open Microsoft Word and launch the add-in.
Log in to X-Author for Contracts for Conga CLM (Contracts for Salesforce) and open the template.
In the Templates pane, go to Work> Fields. This displays the Repeat Table (object name) and the fields in the repeat table.
Enter the field name in the Search Field and click the search icon ().
Click theSettings button next to the selected field name to open the Properties page.
In the attributes list, toggle theSmart Field or Read-Only Fieldswitches based on your requirement and clickSave.
