Conga IdP Users – Email-Based Login Update FAQs

The login method for Conga IdP users changed from username-based authentication to email-based authentication on November 2, 2025.

Am I affected by this change?

If you use Salesforce, Sandbox, Microsoft, or SAML as your identity provider, this change does not affect you. You can continue to log in as usual, no action is required.

Who is impacted by this change?

This update applies only to Conga IdP users. If you log into the Conga Advantage Platform using Conga IdP, you experience this change. Users with other identity providers do not see any changes.

What changes for Conga IdP users?

You now log in using your registered email address instead of your username.

Example – Single Account:

If you have only one account in one organization, logging in with your email is simple and seamless.

Example – Multiple Accounts Across Organizations:

You can use the same email address for multiple organizations.

For example,

  • Email: john.doe@example.com

  • Organizations: Org A, Org B

You log in to both using this email and switch between them using the Organization Switching feature.

Example – Multiple Accounts Within One Organization:

If you previously accessed multiple accounts in the same organization using different usernames, you now use distinct email alias for each account.

For example,

  • Account 1: john.doe+prod@example.com

  • Account 2: john.doe+test@example.com

We send specific alias details to you separately.

When does this change take place?

The update is deployed on November 2, 2025.

What happens if I try to log in using my old username?

After the update, login with your username does not work. You need to use your registered email address to log in.

How do I log in after the update?

You need to reset your password after the update is deployed.

Steps:

  1. Visit the login page.

  2. Select Conga IdP option.

  3. Click Forgot Password.

  4. Enter your registered email or email alias.

  5. Follow the instructions to set a new password.

  6. Use your email and new password to log in.

What are the benefits of email-based login?

  • Simplified Access – You log in easily using your familiar email address instead of remembering usernames.

  • Enhanced Security – Email-based authentication strengthens your account protection.

  • Improved User Experience – You access the application consistently across systems without confusion.

What happens to deactivated accounts?

Deactivated accounts remain inactive and cannot be reactivated after this update.

Can I create a new account using an email alias?

Yes! After the update:

  • You create new accounts using either a primary email or an email alias.

  • If your primary email is already registered in the organization, you must use an email alias to create additional accounts.

Example:

  • Existing account: john.doe@example.com

  • Additional account: john.smith+finance@example.com
