AI Configurator

The AI Configurator helps users optimize their Salesforce environment using artificial intelligence. It simplifies setting up and configuring AI features like Q&A Agent, Search Skill, and Discovery, to integrate with the Advantage Platform. The AI Configurator uses APIs to configure the Salesforce org and the Advantage Platform automatically.

An administrator may take on one of several personas, including a customer administrator, partner administrator, or any other administrator, and is responsible for completing the entire setup process.

1Tenant onboarding

When you purchase your Conga product, the tenant is onboarded automatically. If you do not have access to the Advantage Platform, please contact your Conga representative.

Note: Onboard the environment directly if the customer already has an existing tenant.

For more information, refer to Log In to Conga Advantage Platform.

(Optional) Synchronizing Discovery data between Salesforce and Advantage Platform.

The administrator can manually configure the Advantage Platform to synchronize Discovery data with Salesforce.

Launching the AI Configurator

Launch the AI Configurator to enable and configure AI features in a Salesforce org on the Advantage Platform.

  • Conga CLM version number 16.783 or later is installed.
Note: Customers can register their orgs for CLM package push upgrades or upgrade manually. For more on upgrading Conga CLM to the latest version, see Launching the AI Configurator.
  • The tenant is onboarded.
  • Profile Permission for AI Configurator is set to "Default On" in User Profiles.
The AI Configurator enables and configures AI features like Q&A Agent, Search Skill, and Discovery within your Salesforce org. AI Configurator helps you bring Salesforce tenants onto the Advantage Platform, automatically configuring all required configurations, including external integrations, API connections, URLs, and permissions.
Note: Launching the AI Configurator is a one-time configuration process.

Enabling Search Skill for end users requires an additional feature flag configuration in Salesforce and is not part of the AI Configurator setup.

  1. Log in to your Salesforce org.
  2. Select AI Configurator > Conga Advantage Platform. Available options are:
    • Preview
    • Production
Note: To add environments like QA, Staging, or Dev, configure the APTS_RLPEnvironmentSettings admin property.
  3. Click Launch AI Configurator.
The AI Configurator launches on the Advantage Platform.
  4. Log in to Advantage Platform with Conga IdP credentials.
For more information, see Logging in to Conga Advantage Platform.
  5. Select Yes from the Enabling AI Configuration page and click Proceed.
  6. If data sync is already configured in Advantage Platform for your organization, click Continue or No to indicate whether you will override the existing data sync object mappings.
The AI Configurator configures the following:
    On the Advantage Platform
    • Assigns the role permissions (CongaCoPilotPermissionGroup, CongaCCIUserPermissionGroup, CongaCCIAdminPermissionGroup, CongaCLMAdminPermissionGroup, and CongaPlatformAdminPermissionGroup) to the AuthAutoProvisionUser user role.
    • On the External Integrations tab, the new tenant's Identity Status field displays SUCCESS, indicating that the new tenant organization has been added.
    • The Auto Provision User Enabled field in Admin Console > Organization is set to Yes.
    • In the UI-to-API connection, Cors Origins points to the Salesforce Instance URL, and the Redirect URI points to the Q&A Agent and Search Skill URLs on the Advantage Platform.
    • Discovery is configured to extract data from Master Service Agreement (MSA) and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) documents automatically.
    • The MSA and NDA document types' worksheets are defined to extract specific data from the documents.
    • The object mapping for Discovery (DAI) is automatically set up for common objects from CRM and CLM systems, such as Agreement, Documents, AgreementClauses, and so on. This setup supports:
      • Forward synchronization: Synchronizing data from Salesforce to Advantage Platform through the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipeline.
      • Real-time reverse synchronization: Updating data back to the source instantaneously.

You can view these settings in the data synchronization configuration after activating the system or onboarding a tenant.

Note: This setup works out of the box for standard objects and fields only. Anything additional, like adding new picklist values to standard fields or creating and linking custom fields, must be set up manually or using automated configuration features.

Forward synchronization for objects like Accounts and Users (a specific group of users), is not always required. Some tenants may not require all agreement records to be synchronized forward to the Advantage Platform. Forward-synchronizing all agreements and corresponding documents is mainly required for Discovery's Import from CLM feature. If documents are imported to Discovery from external file systems or a SharePoint repository other than Salesforce, then the forward synchronization for agreements from Salesforce to Advantage Platform can be skipped. If the data mapping is set up correctly, both forward synchronization (through the ETL pipeline) and real-time reverse synchronization run smoothly with minimal adjustments.

    In the Salesforce org
    • The AI Configurator enables the Enable Q&A Agent property in the Comply User Properties setting, which, by default, activates Q&A Agent organization-wide for all users. You can, however, manually adjust user or profile access through the user interface.
    • The APTS_RLPInstanceSettings admin setting automatically populates the AuthorizationURL, the tenant environment's Instance URL, and the SPAClient ID generated in the UI-to-API connection.
    • Disables the Launch AI Configurator button.
    • Completes the Discovery admin configuration.
Users can access Conga Q&A Agent, Search Skill, and Discovery.
You can manually configure the Advantage Platform to synchronize Discovery data back to Salesforce.
Note: To set up Discovery manually in your Salesforce org, see Launching the AI Configurator, and in Advantage Platform, see Setting Up Discovery AI.
