The remaining billable amount is a managed package introduced field used by both the legacy and the regular ALIs. For the legacy asset lines, you must populate this field. Once populated, this field will be auto-updated by the Billing engine based on the invoicing activity.

For the existing regular asset lines which are active, your administrator should run a batch job to update the remaining billable amount. Owing to this functionality, Conga Billing reverse populates this field based on the schedules that are in the “Pending Billing” status and auto-updates this field based on the invoicing activity.

After installing or upgrading to June'23 package, if you face any errors with the invoice run, verify the field “Remaining Billable Amount” is not null for any of the asset line items that are getting invoiced. If the field is null for any of the asset lines, contact your admin to run a batch job for the new field.

Key points to consider

  • You should not edit the "Remaining Billable Amount" field manually or by implementing any custom programming after the billing is activated for that asset.
  • You are using Conga Invoicing functionality.

Instances for Re-Computation

  • For a non-usage Asset Line Item when the status of any "Contracted" Type billing Schedule changes from "Pending Billing" to "Invoiced".
  • For a non-usage Asset Line Item when the status of any "Contracted" Type billing Schedule changes from “Invoiced” to “Pending Billing”.
  • During the amendment or renewal scenarios, when Conga Billing creates new billing schedules with a “Pending Billing” status.
  • After the execution of asset amendment scenarios.

Restrictions

Billing does not update the Remaining Billable amount for the following instances:

  • When the Legacy Asset Line Item is created for Usage products.

  • When the billing schedule has “Informational” as the Type value.
