Conga Contracts for Salesforce supports the latest versions of Microsoft Word and Office 365. Older versions may cause errors and are to be used at your own risk. One known issue with older versions can result in the following error: <filename> has been changed by another author upon saving while using "Open in Word".

To resolve this error, upgrade to the latest version of Microsoft Word or Office 365, or configure Word to trust the Conga Contracts Production server by taking the steps below.

Configure Word to Trust the Conga Contracts Production Server

  1. In Microsoft Word, go to Options
  2. Select Trust Center
  3. Click Trust Center Settings
  4. In the Trust Center Settings window, go to Trusted Locations
  5. Check the Allow Trusted Locations on my Network (not recommended) checkbox
  6. Click Add New Location
  7. In the popup, set the path as one of the following based on your location:
  8. Select Subfolders of this location are also trusted. You have the option of adding a description for this entry.
  9. Click OK.

You should now have a new entry for the production server. When you open documents from Conga Contracts for Salesforce, you will not be asked to enable editing and you will not receive the dialogue box to merge changes when you Open in Word.
