When syncing Contract Requests between Salesforce and Conga Contracts, you have the following Approval management options available:

Specifying when an object requires approval

  1. From the Object Mapping page in Conga CLM Setup Salesforce, edit the current mapping that uses the "Contracts" Conga Contracts object.
  2. Scroll down to the Approval section.
  3. Under "Select the fields that specify when the object requires approval", check the Salesforce to Conga Contracts checkbox and make a selection from the dropdown menu. 

    Your options are restricted to a list of checkbox boolean fields. For example, you can create an "Approval Required" checkbox field to use for this purpose. In the case that you are using the Contract Agreement Object, the "Approval Required" field already exists, and another field with an identical API name should not be created. 

  4. Click Save at the top of the page.

Your record now displays a checked Approval Required field.

Designating when a record should be synced as a Contract Request

When syncing the record from Salesforce to Conga Contracts, make sure the selected checkbox field is marked as true on the record before making the sync request.

Designating a field to be marked as true after syncing

  1. From the Object Mapping page in Conga CLM Setup Salesforce, edit the current mapping that uses the "Contracts" Conga Contracts object. Scroll down to the Approval section.
  2. Under "Designate a Checkbox field to be set to true when a request syncs successfully to Conga Contracts", select the Request Field Created checkbox and make a selection from the dropdown menu.

    Your options are restricted to a list of checkbox boolean fields. For example, you can create a "Request Created" checkbox field to use for this purpose. 

  3. Click Save at the top of the page.

Validating a Contract Request sync

  • When syncing the record from Salesforce to Conga Contracts, make sure the selected checkbox field is marked as false on the record before making the sync request.
  • After a successful Contract Request sync, the selected checkbox field will be updated to true on your record. In the Sync Status component, the status will be "Pending Approval". If the field is not checked then there was an error during syncing or the sync is not yet completed.​
