After you've enabled automated recursive merge, the Recursive Merge Status dropdown becomes available on your Contract Agreement object with the following options:

Do Not Sync
The automated recursive merge is disabled for this record and will not occur.
Sync
An automated recursive merge is enabled for this record and will occur.
Already Synced
This is what the system changes the status to if Automated Recursive Merge sync occurs.
