During the term of the agreement, you may need to modify the contract, for example, its language or terms. To do this, use the Amend feature to create a new version of the agreement record. The amended new record shares the same base agreement number as the original with the decimal point incremented. All the data from the original version is copied to the new version, which can go through the agreement lifecycle phases. On execution of the amendment, the status category of the original version of the agreement is changed from In Effect to Amended.

The APTS_RecordTypeUpdateOnAmend admin entry allows you to update the record type while amending an agreement.

To amend an agreement

  1. Go to the Agreements tab and select an existing agreement record.
  2. Click the Amend action button and review the information it presents. Click Continue.
  3. Click Save. An amended agreement record is created. The agreement number is appended with a number and the agreement name is appended with “Amended”.
    The values in the Status Category and Status fields are updated to Request and In Amendment.

When you amend an agreement, the notes of the parent agreement are copied to the new agreement.
