Remote Site Settings are a security feature that controls access to external web resources from your Salesforce organization. These resources can include services, APIs, or websites that your Salesforce org needs to communicate with. By default, Salesforce blocks calls to external URLs from within its platform due to security considerations. However, you can use Remote Site Settings to explicitly allow these calls. Remote site settings help you maintain a secure environment while allowing your Salesforce organization to interact seamlessly with external web resources as needed for your business processes. 

To configure remote site settings

  1. Go to Setup, enter Remote Site Settings in the Quick Find box, and select it.
  2. Click New Remote Site.
  3. Enter the following details:
    1. Remote Site Name: Enter a remote site name. For Example, RLPLoginURL.

    2. Remote Site URL: Enter the remote site URL. The remote site URL will be specific to the associated RLP environment. For example:
      For a preview Environment: https://login-rlspreview.congacloud.com
      For a production Environment: https://login-rls.congacloud.com

    3. Disable Protocol Security: Leave this checkbox unselected.
    4. Description: Enter a description.
    5. Active: Select the checkbox.
  4. Click Save & New.
  5. Enter the following details:
    1. Remote Site Name: Enter a remote site name. For example, RLPInstanceURL.

    2. Remote Site URL: Enter the remote site URL. The remote site URL will be specific to the associated RLP environment. For example:
      For a preview environment: https://preview-rls09.congacloud.com/
      For a production environment: https://prod-rls10.congacloud.com/

    3. Disable Protocol Security: Leave this checkbox unselected.
    4. Description: Enter a description.
    5. Active: Select the checkbox.
  6. Click Save.
