The field mapping screen is used to map Quik! fields to the corresponding Salesforce (SFDC) fields. Fields that are not mapped will not be auto-populated but will remain editable on the generated forms.

Once the forms data download is complete refresh the Field Mappings screen or click the Reload button.
A good place to start when mapping fields is the Preview Forms button. This button allows you to select a form or group of forms to preview. This preview generates the forms with the fields populated with the Quik! field names. That way you can see which fields are being used where on a form.

  • The Quik Roles dropdown menu contains all of the roles that may appear on the forms the current Quik user is subscribed to. This menu controls the data in the table where each row corresponds to a Quik field that appears on the forms.
  • The column level SFDC Object Type menu sets the selected object type for every row in the table. The objects available in this list are controlled by the MappableObjects setting on the Settings tab.
  • The row-level SFDC Object Type menu controls which SFDC fields are available to select in the SFDC Field dropdown menus. The objects available in this list are controlled by the MappableObjects setting on the Settings tab.
  • Select the SFDC field that corresponds to the Quik field. When it comes time to generate a form or a group of forms the system will look up these field mappings to determine which data to pull from SFDC to populate the corresponding Quik form fields. For example, the Owner First Name Quik field likely corresponds to the Contact First Name field.

Once finished click Save before leaving the configuration screen. You can return anytime to map more fields or edit previously mapped fields.

Checkboxes

In order to find the field names and corresponding values for checkboxes start by pulling up the actual form (not in preview mode). Right-click on a checkbox and choose Inspect. The inspection popup usually has the field’s label element highlighted. In the input element immediately below the label, the name attribute contains the field name to map to and the value attribute contains the value that will pre-select the input.

When mapping this Quik field in the Field Mapping screen, ensure the Salesforce field you map to has the selected value if you want to have that value pre-selected when the form is generated.

Copy Functions

In order to help facilitate the mapping process, we have added two convenient copy functions. These copy functions copy all mapped fields from one role to the next where applicable. If a field does not exist on the receiving role, that field is not be copied over.

  • Copy From allows you to choose a role from which to copy the mapped fields to the current role. Suppose, for example, you have several fields mapped on the Owner role that you’d like to copy to the Beneficiary role. Select Beneficiary in the Role drop-down menu. Click Copy From > Owner in the Copy From Role > Apply > Save.
  • Copy To works the same as Copy From but in the opposite direction. Copy To also allows you to copy to more than one role at a time. For example, suppose we want to copy the Owner mapped fields to both the Beneficiary and Contingent Beneficiary roles. In the Copy To drop-down menu, select Owner in the Role > Copy To > Beneficiary. Hold the Ctrl key and select Contingent Beneficiary in the Copy To Role drop-down menu. Click Apply > Save.
