Update Word fields: formula fields, =SUM fields, IF fields, etc., regardless of whether the output file is Word or PDF. Macros to update fields are not necessary.

Conga Composer updates all kinds of Word® fields: formula fields, =SUM fields, IF fields, etc., regardless of whether the output file is Word or PDF. Macros to update fields are not necessary (and are not supported by Conga Composer anyway).

Can Macros Run Before Converting a Document to PDF?

In a word, no, that’s not possible. The system is specifically designed to ignore macros built-in to your templates for the safety and security of all Conga Composer users, and therefore the macros cannot execute before converting the document to PDF. Macros stored in your templates will execute when the output document is opened in Word by an end-user.
