Configuring Usage Price Tier

Usage price tiers enable tiered pricing for usage-based products by defining different prices for specific consumption ranges. This ensures accurate billing based on how much of a service or product a customer consumes.

Prerequisites

Set the product price type to Usage before configuring Usage Price Tiers.

  1. Open the cart that contains the usage-based product.
  2. Go to the desired line item and click the kebab menu next to the line item.
  3. In the Edit Tier popup, define tier details for each row:
    FieldDescription
FromEnter the starting usage quantity for the tier. For Matrix type Dimension with Price Type - Usage (single-dimension only), the system can auto-populate this value based on the entered dimension values.
ToEnter the ending usage quantity for the tier. Leave blank for the final open-ended tier. For supported Dimension matrices, the system auto-populates this value initially, but it does not update automatically if you later modify the dimension values. You must update it manually if required.
    Note:
    • The system treats the From value in the first usage price tier as 0 when you enter 0 or leave the field blank, and it displays 0 by default. If you enter any other value, the system retains and displays the value you provide.

    • For Matrix type Dimension with Price Type Usage, the system auto-populates the From and To values based on numeric dimension values for supported single-dimension matrices (Range, Cumulative Range, Cumulative Range – Line Item, and Weightage Range).

If you modify the dimension values in the Usage Price Tier pop-up, the system does not automatically update the corresponding To values. You must update the To values manually if needed.

This behavior does not apply to Discrete or multi-dimension matrices.

Adjustment TypeSelect the pricing adjustment method, such as percentage discount.
Adjustment AmountEnter the adjustment value applied to the tier.
Unit Price (Calculated)Review the calculated unit price based on the adjustment.
  4. Add or remove tiers as required to match the pricing structure.
  5. Click Save to apply the configured tiers to the line item.
