2 Cannot Add a Product to the Cart

Error

The error Failed to reprice.: Attempt to de-reference a null object. is displayed when you add the first product to the cart.

Cause

This happens when a wrong combination of Totaling Group Type and Adhoc/Product Totaling Hierarchy exists in Config System Properties.

What to do

Perform the following steps to resolve the error:

  1. Go to Setup > Develop > Custom Settings > Config System Properties.
  2. Click Manage. Edit System Properties.
  3. Configure one of the following combinations of settings:
    • Totaling Group Type = Product and Adhoc/Product Totaling Hierarchy = <Name>
    • Totaling Group Type = Category and Adhoc/Product Totaling Hierarchy = Blank or Null
