Use Case: Restoring Asset Values on Reselection of Cancelled Options During Renewal

This use case describes how CPQ restores asset values on reselection of cancelled options during renewal.

Prerequisites

• You have an active bundle asset.
• The administrator has added the following asset fields to the Asset Restore Fields setting:
  • Quantity
  • Start Date
  • End Date
  • Location
  • ABO Number (custom field)
  • ABO Picklist (custom field)
  • ABO Text (custom field)

Restoring Asset Values and Renewal Dates During Renewal

1. Navigate to the Installed Products page.

2. Select the bundle asset you want to renew. The bundle has the following details:

   Product	Start Date	End Date	Quantity	Selling Term	Selling Frequency
   Bundle1	01/01/2022	31/12/2022	1	1	Yearly
   Option1	01/01/2022	31/12/2022	1	1	Yearly

3. Click Renew. The Confirm Renewal intermediate page is displayed.
4. Select Retain the current Asset End Date and click Confirm. The Installed Products page is displayed.

5. On the Mini-Cart, click View Cart. The cart page with the following details is displayed.

6. Make the following changes to the option on the cart:

7. Click the wrench icon () next to the asset. The Configuration page is displayed.
8. Deselect Option1 and reselect it. You can reselect the option regardless of the pricing calculation: after the calculation process is complete or during the process.

9. Click Go to Pricing. The cart page with the following details is displayed:

CPQ restores the renewal start and end dates by default (not the asset start and end dates) and restores the rest of the fields from the asset.
