New Features

The following features are new to Conga CPQ on Conga Platform in this release.

Introducing a Revalidation Flag for Pricing Optimization

Introducing revalidation flag setting under configsystemproperties > EnableRevalidationOnPricing, allowing users to enable or disable the entire revalidation feature. This enables the pricing optimization for carts up to 10k.

Administrators can control the revalidation on pricing using revalidation flag. The default value of EnableRevalidationOnPricing is null (false).

Replacement Constraint Rules for Multiple Configurations

Sales representatives can implement replacement constraint rules on the following scopes:

  • Product
  • Product Group
  • Product Family
  • Product Field Set
  • Option Group (In condition)

For more information, see Config Features.

Option Group Sequencing for Associated Products

In this release, if the administrator modify the sequence of an option group, then CPQ automatically updates the sequence order on the config page. The Option group sequence only affect the sequence for the groups within their respective bundle levels.

For more information, see Associating Option Groups with a Product.

Price Waterfall Adjustment Capability on Related Pricing

Sales representative can view the adjustments (both automatic and manual) applied on price points defined in the price waterfall chart.

The following runtime APIs now support relevant actions on the Price Waterfall chart, ensuring accurate prices are displayed especially when driven by related pricing. Implementation teams can use these APIs to build and perform actions by providing relevant details.

  • GET: /api/cart/v1/carts/{cartId}/items/{lineitemid}/waterfallchart
  • GET: /api/cart/v1/carts/{cartId}/items/{lineitemid}/waterfallchart/{chartId}
  • POST: /api/cart/v1/carts/{cartId}/items/{lineitemid}/waterfallchart/{chartId}/adjustments/override

For more information, see Conga Developer Portal.

Streamlining Order Activation: Custom Field and Usage Tier Integration

In this release, when activating an order, the custom fields are transferred to Order Line Items and Asset Line Items. Usage tier entries are added to Order Line Item from the cart line item. This process supports all product types, Order Line item, Asset Line Item, and the orders are created with an Activated status for the respective account.

Conga Platform Asset Based Ordering: Support for Early Ramp Renewal

In this release, customer administrators can perform an early renewal of ramped asset by modifying the renewed end date of every ramp line, as required. This feature enables the customer to prepone the renewed end date of ramp lines.

In the following example, customer purchased one product with two ramp lines during the new sale. Hence, assets are created for the ramped product.

Ramp NameStart DateEnd DateSelling TermLine Status
Before Renew

Ramp 11/1/202312/31/20231New
Ramp 21/1/202412/31/20241New

Renewal with modified end date: After 6 months, if you want to renew this ramped product for 3 years and you want to renew the service earlier than asset end date. You can renew the assets by changing the the start date of the first renewal product to 6/30/2023.

Asset Service Integration Support

  • Support for integration with asset Change operation enables users to modify existing assets by adding options to bundle assets, all with different dates, with Asset Pricing.
  • Support for integration with Asset Renew operation on the Conga platform ensures compliance with Auto Include Constraint rules, allowing any changes during renewal, such as addition or removal of assets.
  • Support for integration with Asset Change operation enables users to remove ramp lines from existing assets on the Conga platform with Asset Pricing. Users can cancel ramp lines during Change or Renew operations, with options for refund calculation and synchronized cancellation for bundled options.
  • Support for integration with Asset Change operation allows users to remove ramp lines on the Conga platform with Asset Pricing. During the operation, the last ramp line can be removed, updating line status, net price, and relevant dates, adhering to predefined criteria. The cancellation of a bundle's ramp line cascades to cancel the ramp line of its associated option.
  • Support of integration with asset Change API allows sales representatives to amend assets on the Conga platform, incorporating Constraint Rules. Users can seamlessly modify standalone, bundle, and ramp assets while ensuring compliance with various rule types like Inclusion, Exclusion, Replacement, Recommendation, and Validation, with amendments accurately reflected on line items.

For more information, see Asset Features.

Creation of New Waterfall with Condition and Criteria

Pricing administrators can create a new waterfall ruleset in the Admin UI to apply adjustments on price points, defining condition and criteria scope. This includes the implementation of standard criteria models for defining conditions and fields for Price List, Product Family, Product Category, Charge Type, Product Group, and Category, with Discard and Save functionalities.

For more information, see Creating Price Waterfall Ruleset.

Enhancements in Price Waterfall

  • Adjustment and Line Item Field Editing
Sales representative can now view and modify adjustments and line item fields in the Price Waterfall feature. Admin-defined line item fields are displayed in the chart and grid, with edit permissions based on admin settings. Modifications trigger a reprice option, providing control over pricing calculations.
  • Price Waterfall Chart and Grid
Enhanced Price Waterfall functionality now allows interaction with detailed charts and grids, including toggling between gross and per unit values, switching charts, and editing or deleting adjustments directly. The table view offers comprehensive product details and adjustable price elements for enhanced transparency and control.

For more information, see Pricing Features.

Asset Renewal: Add Options Flexibility

Customer administrator can add option products to the asset while performing the renew operation. The newly added option fetches the start date and end date from the primary line of its bundle when the line status is "New" and the asset pricing is turned off while adding the option. Newly added option will be part of same bundle asset after order activation. This process supports different charge-types and start dates up to sub-bundle level 3 for seamless renewal operations.

Order Activate API

Platform ABO now includes an Activate Order API, facilitating order activation post-creation with Order and Order Line Items in Pending Status. User has to pass "Ready for Activation Date" and "Order Id" as parameters to activate the pending order. On activation, it activates the Order Line Item and also creates Asset Line Item on the activated status. It also creates Asset Line Item History. From the OLI, this API will copy "Usage Tier" entries, ramp entries, pricing details and all the custom field values.

Asset Change Operations with Deep Discount for Bundle-Option Assets

Platform ABO now supports Asset Change operations with deep discounts for Standalone and Bundle-Option assets. Within the asset lifecycle, we observe that Asset TCV is greater than Net Price of the asset, and in certain point of time user may want to give discount amount to the asset upto Asset TCV (which is greater than the current Net Price). During change, we observe negative net price on the cart when we perform discount which is greater than Net Price and we call it as Deep Discount. After Order Activation, the value of Asset Net Price and Asset TCV will get adjusted accordingly.

Asset Change Operations: Removing Options without Date Changes

User can change asset and also remove option at the same time. Removed option will remain on the same start date and end date and with the line status as "Cancelled". Cancelled option will not get any refund and Net Price will be shown as zero on the cart. We are not allowing users to change the End Date of the option before the cancellation, that means the entire duration of option is consumed and hence, there is no refund. Removed option will be with the status as "Cancelled" and it will be deactivated, so that it will not be part of any further ABO transaction for its bundle.

Various scenarios including different charge-types are supported, up to sub-bundle level 3, ensuring comprehensive flexibility in change operations.

Asset Usage Tier Entries during Asset Creation

Asset usage tier entries are now automatically created for assets, and it supports standalone and bundle option usage products. As of now, we are supporting it without asset pricing and without modifying usage tier entries during ABO transaction.

Asset Renewal with Constraint Rules

ABO now supports Asset Renewal operations on the Conga platform, seamlessly incorporating Constraint Rules. Acceptance Criteria ensure renewal for standalone, option, bundle, and ramp assets, adhering to various rule types including Inclusion, Exclusion, Replacement, Recommendation, and Validation constraint rules. Here are some examples:

For more information, see Creating Price Waterfall Rulesets.

Restrict Drag-n-Drop for Specific Price Waterfall Line Items

Users are unable to drag-n-drop specific line items in the Price Waterfall as certain entries, like List Price and Base Price, remain fixed and unchangeable. However, resequencing is allowed for other added price points.

For more information, see Creating the Price Waterfall.

Error Handling for Promotion Save&Next

The Save&Next button now prevents navigation to the next page if the save call fails, ensuring administrators remain on the same page with displayed error messages. This enhancement enhances user experience and prevents inadvertent data loss.

Configurable Display Columns for Asset Termination

As an administrator, you can set up display column settings for Termination intermediate page. Here, default fields are displayed such as Termination Date, Billed Through Date, Total Billing, Invoiced, Pending billing, and Estimated Credit. Apart from default fields, user can add other fields which will be part of "Editable fields for cancelled line items". User cannot delete Termination Date and it should be visible, ensuring efficient management of display column settings. You can view, configure, add/remove, and reorder display columns, with options to save changes or discard them using the Discard button.

For more information, see Configuring Column Settings

Deleting Price Waterfall Charts in Admin UI

Users can delete unused Price Waterfall charts in the Admin UI to maintain only essential charts. You can delete charts using the row-level option, confirmation messages upon deletion initiation, and success messages after successful deletion.

For more information, see Creating the Price Waterfall.

Clone Option Group Functionality in Master Data Admin

Product administrators can now clone option groups in the Admin UI, streamlining the process of working on option groups. It include the ability to clone from the list view, presence of a clone action next to each group, redirection to the cloned group after initiation, and renaming the group to "CLONED - [original group name]."

For more information, see Managing the Option Groups.

Editable Fields for Cancelled Lines during Termination

This feature in the Admin UI allows users to specify editable fields for cancelled lines during asset termination, allowing sales representatives to input relevant details as needed. This enhancement streamlines the termination process and enhances user control over terminated assets.
