In these release notes, you can find features, enhancements, fixed issues, and known issues for the Conga CPQ on Conga Platform 202403.1.0 release. For documentation updates, see What's New in CPQ on Conga Platform.

New Features

The following features are new to Conga CPQ on Conga Platform in this release.

Cart Services on Conga Platform

A new flag, hasAcceptedWarning (Boolean), is introduced in the cart checkout to quote and order APIs {cartId}/quote and cartId}/order. When you set this flag to true while invoking these APIs the system checks out the cart and creates a quote or an order irrespective of warnings.

ABO Change Quantity: Decrement Support

A user can use the ABO Change Quantity operation to decrement the quantity of an asset. The cart line item's line status becomes "decremented and merged". Cart line items support negative quantity and pricing only for line items with a "decremented and merged" status.

Advanced Flags and Settings for Price List Items

In this release, new advanced flags and settings are introduced for price list items. Administrators can configure them for pricing and quantity management:

  • Default Price From allows administrators to set default prices from product attributes or advanced formulas.
  • Default Quantity From enables default quantities to be sourced from product attributes, configurations, or advanced formulas.

New Setting for Attribute Group Layout

A new setting, HorizontalAttributeGroupView, is introduced in Config System Properties for attribute group layout. The default value is false, displaying attribute groups in a single column.

Asset Service Integration

  • Ramp Renewal Integration allows you to renew Ramp assets individually or collectively with customizable renewal options. You can select renewal preferences and apply uplifts during the renewal process.
  • Change Operations: Sales representatives can modify bundle assets by adding or removing options during change operations. You can adjust options of the same or different charge types, alter start dates, and remove the last ramp line.
  • Change Integration: Sales representatives can amend bundle-option assets with deep discounts through the Asset Change operation. You can modify quantities, pricing, and upgrade/downgrade assets multiple times while ensuring accurate reflection of amended assets on line items.
  • Termination Operation: Sales representatives can edit fields for canceled lines, including comments, end date, and custom fields.
  • Ramp Renewal: Sales representatives can renew ramp assets individually or collectively with desired terms, co-term options, and renewal uplift adjustments.

Asset Suspend API

The Suspend API enables an administrator to suspend the listed assets. This API suspends an existing asset based in the suspension date passed and it will remain suspended until the suspension end date passes.

Asset Resume API

The Resume API enables an administrator to resume the listed assets. This API resumes the existing suspended asset based on the resume date passed.

Asset Change: Quantity with Co-Term Assets Supported

During change quantity operation, the co-term API enables an administrator to increase or decrease the quantity of selected assets and at the same time, you can co-term other assets with the same end date. A purchased identifier criteria setting enables you to select fields for the co-term criteria.

Change Quantity API for Asset Adjustment

The Change Quantity API on the ABO platform allows you to adjust the quantity of the asset. It reflects only on the primary charge type of the asset. You can increase or decrease the quantity as needed for the existing asset.

POST: api/asset/v1/assets/{cardId}/change-quantity

Defining a Promotion's Benefits

The administrators can create or update benefits for "buy X get X"-type promotions on line-item objects with tiered rate tables using the Admin UI's Promotions and Coupons section. The administrator can define benefits by selecting Rate Type, Adjustment Applies To, Benefit UOM, Rate Table Tier Type, and other relevant fields. For "Rate Table-With Tiers", administrators can specify rate table columns, create/update rate tables, and define tier rate structures for each entry. Administrators can add and delete rows and specify rate values for tier rate structures, and can view and edit details before saving.

Rate Table with Tier in Promotion Summary Screen

The Summary Screen displays all Promotion details across sections such as Information, Scope, Criteria, Benefits, Limits, and Coupons. Each section supports exapansion and collapse effects for easy viewing in read-only mode. Clicking View Structure in the rate table displays the row's entries in read-only mode.

Creating Waterfall Rules under Price Waterfall Rulesets

Pricing administrators can create new waterfall rules in the admin UI to adjust price points, facilitating use cases like API integration and bulk setup. With fields like Rule Name, Sequence, Description, Flags for processing and activation, Rule Type, Allowable Actions, Target Price Points, and Adjustment Application, users can define and manage price adjustments within the system.

This section describes existing features that are changed in this release.

Price Waterfall Chart Feature

Waterfall API

  • Waterfall for Price Ramps and Option Lines
    The price waterfall API supports waterfall for every price ramps and option prices. Each ramp line and option line item can have its defined adjustments and applicable charts.
  • User Role Criteria
    The pricing waterfall chart supports user-role criteria, enabling administrators to define chart access by user role. Admins can add roles to the criteria, enabling the same chart for different roles.
  • Pricing Adjustments
    Sales representatives can access the price waterfall chart to view and adjust pricing. This update allows users to manually override automatically applied rules and to customize adjustment directions, and supports condition, dimension, and other rule types. The system applies adjustments accurately and prevents duplicate rules.

Waterfall UI 

  • Chart Adjustment 
    Sales representatives can analyze and adjust prices in the price waterfall chart with options to delete, reprice, and toggle between gross and per-unit prices. They can view and modify line item fields for clarity.
  • Dynamic Chart Switching
    Sales representatives can switch between different charts using a dropdown menu for better visualization. Additionally, product changes on the left panel automatically update the corresponding chart.

Promotion Functionality for Rate Tables with Tiers

Pricing administrators can access an enhanced promotion functionality and can ensure accurate discounting when the Rate Table - With Tiers feature's rate table tier type is set to "Highest Tier Rate".

Waterfall Chart Left Panel Description icon

A pricing administrator can view descriptions by hovering over the info icon in the Waterfall Chart's left panel.

Honoring Price List Item's Sequencing on Catalog Screen

On the Catalog screen, a product with different charge types is displayed according to the sequence the pricing administrator entered when defining the price list items. The pricing administrator must provide a unique sequence number for each price list item.

Locale Support for CPQ Product Data Translation

Sales representatives can see product master data on the config page translated per the administrator's locale and translation setup. This translates such product master data as a primary bundle, option product fields, sub-bundle product fields, option group information, and attribute group information.

Sub-Option Groups 

Administrators can create sub-option groups in existing option groups, which are displayed in the hierarchy view. You can also view, update, and delete the sub-option groups added to the parent option groups.

Replacement Constraint Rule for Multiple Configuration

Sales representatives can implement replacement constraint rules on the following scopes:

  • Product Field Set
  • Product Option Group

ABO Platform: Renew API Option Removal

The Renew API on the ABO platform enables administrators to renew entire bundles while removing specific options. Canceled option lines goes back to the asset start date and end date, net price will be zero and there is no refund.
