New Features

The following features are new to Smart Search in this release.

Ribbon display enhanced to accommodate nested queries

A nested query using natural language or a built query results in an explanation block containing mainClause and nestedClause sub-blocks.

• In the ribbon, all mainClause elements whose queryClauseType equals “whereClause” and whose nestedClause is not true are displayed without the highlighted nested clause.
• All nestedClause elements whose queryClauseType equals “whereClause” are also displayed in the ribbon.

When you cut the nested condition ribbon, the keepNestedClause array index is excluded.

API changed to return the actual number of matching records obtained from the search query

Previous versions displayed the number of matching records that could possibly be displayed. The product is enhanced to show the actual number of records matching the search query.

Smart Search APIs support include and exclude file options in search

Customer  wants to use search to pull up executed agreements only. Smart Search APIs (resolvephrase, resolvequeryplan, resolvefollowup) enhanced to provide
includeFiles and excludeFiles options.

Type-ahead of the keywords to show search history

When you enter keywords in the search bar, the search history suggests a configured or default number of search terms based on previous searches. You can pick any suggestion from the search history and use it to execute that search again. If no history is available, a default messages: “No search history available” is displayed.

Grid display slider

A slider is provided to help view search results that extend beyond page boundaries.

Dynamic dictionary

You can define some fields with custom names and search based on those names. A picklist is provided for future entries of certain major objects, object enumerations, and record types.

Group View

Search result hits from multiple records that are part of a single agreement or opportunity can be displayed as grouped items under a common entity, or they can be displayed as unique artifacts. This behavior is user-configurable.

Column display selection

The Smart Search user interface helps you select different fields to display in the results. You can search at all levels for fields and pick values from a list to be displayed in the search results. You can also add or remove the displayed fields dynamically and save your configuration.

Parametric display and edit hooks

Whenever you run a search, a ribbon is displayed over the results with the parameters used to obtain them. Each of item is displayed on the ribbon with a cross-out (X) button to remove it from follow-up searches, and a Clear All button is provided as well.

Information button for search methods

When you enter a search, the results contain an information button that comprehensively details the search parameters.

"Did you mean" feature

On an unsuccessful search, Smart Search offers search terms that may meet your search criteria.

Followup searches run fresh

Follow-up searches are not affected by an initial search. In other words, if an initial search delivers the maximum number of results, subsequent search refinements are made against the database, not against the previous search.

Configurable search behavior

You can change personal settings to select how many search results are returned (maximum) and how many characters long each displayed search result snippet is. You can control the ways searches are carried out, toggling synonym searches and whether to constrain searches to all or your own items. You can also toggle auto-correction of search entries and whether results are grouped by agreement or displayed as unique elements.

Filter search results by column

On each search result column, you can filter results by column using an operator (such as "equals", "greater than", "less than", and so forth) and an entered value.

Direct entry of page numbers

When you receive a multi-page search result, you can enter page numbers directly to navigate to a particular page.
